Rebecca Miller

Rebecca Augusta Miller, Lady Day-Lewis (born September 15, 1962) is an American film director, screenwriter, author and actress, most known for her films Personal Velocity: Three Portraits, The Ballad of Jack and Rose, Angela and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, all of which she wrote and directed. She is the daughter of Magnum photographer Inge Morath and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Miller.

Early life

Miller was born in Roxbury, Connecticut, and is the daughter of playwright Arthur Miller and Austrian-born photographer Inge Morath. She has a brother, Daniel, who was born in 1966 with Down Syndrome and was placed in an institution shortly after his birth. Her father was Jewish and her mother was Protestant. For a time during her childhood, Miller practiced Catholicism on her own accord; she has said that she "stopped thinking of [herself] as a Christian somewhere at the end of college". She was educated at Choate Rosemary Hall and Yale University, where she studied art. She initially pursued an acting career, landing parts in the television movie The Murder of Mary Phagan and the feature films Regarding Henry (1991) and Consenting Adults (1992).

Rebecca Miller (singer)

Rebecca Miller is a Canadian country music artist. Her 1995 single "Listen to the Radio" reached the Top 20 of the RPM Country Tracks chart. An album was planned for release, but shelved when her record label closed. In 2009, she was signed to Crystal Shawanda's label, New Sun Records.

Sandra di Marco

Sandra di Marco, played by Clare Wilkie, is the estranged wife of Beppe di Marco (Michael Greco), and mother of his son Joe (Jake Kyprianou). She had walked out on the family when Joe was just one year old.

Sandra reappears in Beppe and Joe's lives in 2000 when she tracks them down to Walford. She had left them because Beppe's family, and in particular his grandparents Bruno and Luisa (Leon Lissek and Stella Tanner), resented her for not being Italian. Sandra wanted to go back to work after having Joe, but the family wouldn't allow it, and when Beppe started siding with his family on the issue, Sandra decided to leave him and her son. She later moved in with Beppe's police partner, Jack Robbins (Chook Sibtain). She left Jack to track down her son, and although she is met with hostility at first, she and Beppe soon grow closer and eventually rekindle their romance, much to Beppe's family's disgust.

Rebecca Miller (conductor)

Rebecca Miller is an American classical orchestral conductor. She was born in Santa Cruz, California; her mother is flutist and musicologist Leta Miller. She graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a piano degree then studied conducting at Northwestern University and the Royal College of Music, where she was Paul Woodhouse Junior Fellow in Conducting. She is married to the British pianist Danny Driver.

She is music director of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Choral Society and Orchestra, and Director of Orchestras at the Royal Holloway University of London. She founded the New Professionals Orchestra in London in 1999. After winning first prize in the fourth Eduardo Mata Conducting Competition, she was a conducting fellow of the Houston Symphony from 2005-07. From 2007-10, she was Resident Conductor of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.

Among the orchestras she has guest-conducted are the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Royal Northern Sinfonia, London Mozart Players, BBC Proms Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, and orchestras in Mexico and Venezuela.
