Becky (television personality)

Becky (ベッキー, Bekkī, born March 6, 1984) is a Japanese television personality, or tarento, signed with the entertainment company Sun Music Productions. Beginning in late 2009, she began a music career under the name Becky♪♯, with the eighth note and sharp representing "a different half of Becky stepping up".

History

Becky was born in Kanagawa Prefecture to her British father Simon and Japanese mother. She has a younger sister named Jessica who lived in the United States to study dance and has other family in England, as seen in an episode of Sekai no Hatemade Itte Q! (世界の果てまでイッテQ!). Becky held dual citizenship status in both Japan and the United Kingdom.

She debuted as a regular on the popular children's show Oha-Suta in 1999 reading out the English names of various Pokémon characters in a section of the show called Pokémon: The World. She became a popular mascot of the show, and eventually started landing spots on various Japanese variety shows. On television, she has also appeared in numerous commercials and has lent her voice to the characters of many anime shorts and movies.

Becky (song)

"Becky" is the first single of Plies's fourth album, Goon Affiliated. The track was released on the internet by Plies via his Twitter.

The song had its radio station premiere on Power 107.1 in Macon, Georgia on June 23, 2009. The song has since sold over 2,789,000 copies, also peaked at number #1 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

It's also the 6th time Plies and producer J.R. Rotem have worked together. They worked together on Plies previous singles "Bust It Baby Pt. 2" featuring Ne-Yo and "Want It, Need It" featuring Ashanti.

Music video

The video premiered on September 22, 2009. Freeway and Rick Ross make cameos appearances in the video. The song refers to a woman who is good at performing oral sex, in which "Becky" is a slang term.

Reality

Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or might be imagined. In a wider definition, reality includes everything that is and has been, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible. A still broader definition includes everything that has existed, exists, or will exist.

Philosophers, mathematicians, and other ancient and modern thinkers, such as Aristotle, Plato, Frege, Wittgenstein, and Russell, have made a distinction between thought corresponding to reality, coherent abstractions (thoughts of things that are imaginable but not real), and that which cannot even be rationally thought. By contrast existence is often restricted solely to that which has physical existence or has a direct basis in it in the way that thoughts do in the brain.

Reality is often contrasted with what is imaginary, delusional, (only) in the mind, dreams, what is false, what is fictional, or what is abstract. At the same time, what is abstract plays a role both in everyday life and in academic research. For instance, causality, virtue, life and distributive justice are abstract concepts that can be difficult to define, but they are only rarely equated with pure delusions. Both the existence and reality of abstractions are in dispute: one extreme position regards them as mere words; another position regards them as higher truths than less abstract concepts. This disagreement is the basis of the philosophical problem of universals.

Reality is a 1974 album by jazz bassist Monk Montgomery, one of his four solo albums. It was released on Philadelphia International Records.
