Ignition (student training)

Ignition is a transition and mentorship program that is implemented in high schools across the United States. The program was developed and trademarked by Focus Training, a leadership development company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The goal of Ignition is to build student relationships and make transition from middle school to high school a positive experience for students, administrators, and teachers. The program utilizes upperclassmen to act as mentors to incoming freshmen for the entire 9th grade school year. Mentors help freshmen acclimate to the high school environment, deal with the challenges of the new school, and learn successful behaviors. As of 2010 the Ignition program is implemented at over 220 schools nationwide and serves over 100,000 students and educators.

FOCUS Training works with a team of educators to build a program that fits each school’s needs by considering mentor recruitment, time, space, budget, class size, related program and learning objectives. This stage teaches Ignition advisors how to run each aspect of the program.

Re:Ignition is a five-piece hard rock/alternative metal music group from Bay Area, San Francisco.

History

Formed in 2004, the band is composed of Skinlab members lead vocals/guitarist Steev Esquivel and guitarist Steve "Snake" Green. The band released their debut album Empty Heart, Loaded Gun on November 21, 2006 via Corporate Punishment Records.

Metal Hammer UK described the band's music as "hard-hitting, driving rock tracks with a beefy weight behind them". Re:Ignition also featured in the magazine's "Top 100 bands to watch for in 2007" list.

I Against I

I Against I is the third studio album by the American hardcore punk band Bad Brains. It was released in November 1986 through SST Records with the catalog number SST 065. The best-selling album in the band's catalog, I Against I is a critically acclaimed album that mixes American hardcore punk with funk, soul, reggae and heavy metal. It is also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The album featured an MTV video for the title track directed by Paul Rachman who later went on to direct the documentary feature film American Hardcore.

The title I Against I presumably refers to a common Rastafarian phrase, I and I, which is used in place of the first-person plural (i.e. we) in order to signify the union of the speaker, audience, and Jah (God) in love and peace.

At the producer's suggestion, the vocals to "Sacred Love" were recorded over the phone from the prison where H.R. was serving time on a marijuana distribution charge.

There is song collaboration of Massive Attack and Mos Def with the same name, and another by Jedi Mind Tricks. Ska punk band Sublime used to cover "House of Suffering" during some of their live performances (such as the "Las Palmas theatre" show in February 17, 1995) as a follow up to their version of "5446, That's My Number".
