Raymond Christiaan Rensen a.k.a. Raymzter (born 1979 in Almere) is a Dutch rapper.
Raymzter was born in Almere to a Moroccan father and a Dutch mother . He developed an interest in hip hop early in life after listening to a Public Enemy album. He started writing lyrics in English but later switched to Dutch. In 2000 he formed a band with Dominiq Dorwart (Dj-Do), Glenn Gaddum, Jason Chocolaad and Rowin Tetteroo, and this group won first place in the hip hop category at the "Grand Prix of the Netherlands Talent Show". He also won an MC battle, and began making a name for himself in the Dutch hip hop scene.
In 2002, he contributed two songs to a compilation CD, Homegrown - Dope Dutch Hiphop Talent, and in June of the same year won the "Essent Music Award", earning him a gig at Lowlands festival. In September he released his first single, "Kutmarokkanen" ("Cunt Moroccans") is released. The title references Amsterdam alderman Rob Oudkerk's comment on Dutch Moroccans, and the lyrics critique the country's swing towards right-wing populist politics after 9/11. The song was a national hit and paved the way for other Dutch Moroccan hip hop artists.
[Rey Mysterio]
One, two, three, four
Se tu nueve
[Chorus: Rey Mysterio]
Life is hard man la vida es dura
Gotta believe in yourself sin duda
No es chiste, es mi futura
Si yo puedo con alma pura
Rey Mysterio, con mensaje serio
De su television straight to your stereo
Cada persona tiene sueños in order to
Move ahead you gotta cross the border
[Rey Mysterio]
They must have thought I was just a little mocoso
And all them haters said no eres talentoso
Mira me, yo soy Mysterioso
Un Mexicano con talento henjoso
Puedo ser cosas you can't believe
Tu no sabes what I have up my sleeve?
De verdad, yo se los diseño
Para realizar mis sueños
Tengo la cualidad de oro
And I can move como fuerza de toro
De la costa oeste - con poder de mente
Represento San Diego y Tijuana de frente
[Chorus]
[Rey Mysterio]
I was born in Califas soy Americano
Pero mi vida es cien porciento Mexicano
I reminisce on my school days, in San Diego
When I told them my dreams, me dijeron que no puedo
I had to believe, crei en mi mismo
To cross all kinds of borders yo estaba listo
Hey Rey! Hey Rey!
Tu eres pequeño, but I knew I could do it
Porque era mi sueño
I love Tijuana and I love San Diego
But I had to go - yo hasta luego!
So I could show my skills
A mi gente mi raza
Nowadays everybody knows my name, que pasa!
[Chorus]
[Rey Mysterio]
I love Tijuana and I love San Diego
But I had to go - Mexico!
Guadalajara!
Acupulco!
Tijuana! Monterrey
