Ramot (Hebrew: רָמוֹת, lit. Heights), also known as Ramot Alon (Hebrew: רמות אלון), is a large neighborhood in a northern part of East Jerusalem. Ramot is one of Jerusalem's Ring Neighborhoods. The land was annexed by Israel after the Six-Day War, though that annexation has not been recognized internationally. As part of Ramot was established in East Jerusalem, the international community considers it an Israeli settlement. The international community considers Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.
Ramot is named after the biblical city of Rama, where the Prophet Samuel lived and was brought for burial: Now Samuel had died, and all Israel lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, and (each one lamented him) in his own city. (Samuel I, 28:3). According to tradition, Rama was situated on one of the highest peaks of the Judean Hills, 885 meters above sea level. The Tomb of Samuel is located 1.3 kilometers north of Ramot, next to the Arab village Nabi Samwil.
Ramot (Hebrew: רָמוֹת, lit. "heights" or "elevations") is a moshav and Israeli settlement near the eastern shores of the Sea of Galilee in the western Golan Heights. It belongs to the Golan Regional Council. It is named "Ramot" because it is located on two hills. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the Golan Heights illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.
The community is located on a small hill, which is the lowest step on the slope that falls from the Golan Heights to the Sea of Galilee, about 10 meters (33 ft) below sea level (compared to the Sea of Galilee which is about 210 meters (690 ft) below sea level). The community is 2 kilometers (1.2 mi) east of the Sea of Galilee and 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) north of Ein Gev.
The moshav was founded in 1969, when Golan area was a part of the Israeli Military Governorate. In 1981, the area of Golan was unilaterally annexed by Israel, applying Israeli civil rule on the area. The founders first lived in the houses of the abandoned village of Skopye, and then settled two years later to temporary "triangle houses" in what is now the Ramot recreation village. In 1973, they resettled in the moshav's current location. The moshav is a member of the Moshavim Movement.

I want to be a pirate
Sail the seven seas
A vagabond a buccaneer
Nobody badder than me
A parrot on my shoulder
A rolling deck 'neath my feat
Coloured tattoos 'n' golden rings
A pirate's life can't be beat
I wanna sail the seven seas
Just to live a life that is free
Sailing, the bounding main
Playing, a pirate's game
Sailing, the bounding main
Playing, a pirate's game
I gotta be a pirate
Sail the seven seas
A vagabond a buccaneer
Nobody badder than me
I'll fly the jolly roger
I'll live without a care
Wanna be a lovable rogue
Dashing and debonair
I wanna sail the seven seas
I've got to live a life that is free
Sailing, the bounding main
Playing, a pirate's game
Sailing, the bounding main
Playing, a pirate's game
I wanna sail the seven seas
Just to live a life that is free
Sailing, on the bounding main
Playing, a pirate's game
Sailing, on the bounding main
