Ramkumar

Ramkumar is a versatile Indian film actor and producer working in Kannada language films who made his debut in Peraala's 1990 action film Aavesha (2012). The same year he played a brief role in Rajendra Singh Babu's war film Muthina Haara (1990). He turned producer for the film Pandavaru (2006) in which he acted as well. With his good looks he was considered as one of the "Chocolate heroes" of the 1990s and his acting skills were well appreaciated. As on 2013, Ramkumar has acted in over 40 Kannada feature films.

Personal life

Ramkumar is the son of Shringar Nagaraj, a popular actor and producer who produced the critically acclaimed Pushpaka Vimana (1988) starring Kamal Haasan and Amala. He is married to Poornima, the younger daughter of Kannada cinema's most celebrated actor Rajkumar. He associated with his wife and produced the film Pandavaru in 2006.

Career

Ramkumar being a producer's son was an avid movie buff in his childhood. He was introduced to film industry by the famous director Peraala in his action film Aavesha (1990) co-starring Shankar Nag, Geetha and Bhavya. He was paired with yet another debutant Shivaranjini in this film. The film went on to become success at the box-office. This was quickly followed by the epic blockbuster war film Muthina Haara directed by Rajendra Singh Babu and starred Vishnuvardhan and Suhasini. He played the son role of Vishnuvardhan who gets killed in the war. The film was one of the milestone success in Kannada cinema.

Ram Kumar (basketball)

Ram Kumar (born 4 February 1964) is a former Indian basketball player and coach of the junior Indian team. He is currently the coach of the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala team, and has been a long standing coach of the Indian Railways men's team. He played for India during 1985 to 1996 and represented the Indian national basketball team at several international championships. He also served as the captain of Indian national basketball team from 1991 to 1995. He played the position of shooting guard. In the National Championships, Ram Kumar represented Indian Railways and during his playing days, Indian Railways won eight Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze medals. Ram Kumar is the son of former basketball player Khushi Ram, an Arjuna awardee and the brother of Ashok Kumar, also an India international player. A spectacular shooter known for his impeccable 3 point shooting, Kumar emerged as one of the top shooting guard in the Asian circuit .He is a recipient of Dhyan Chand Award in 2003 for the lifetime achievement in Indian basketball. Kumar is also regarded as the best coach of the country till date .
