Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan is an Indian preacher, spiritual leader, and actor. He has been the head of the India-based socio-spiritual organisation Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS) since 23 September 1990. DSS oversees several social programmes, such as a cleanliness campaigns, blood donation drives, tree planting, disaster relief, and support for transgender people, tribal communities, orphans, and rehabilitation of sex workers.

Early life

Ram Rahim was born to Naseeb Kaur and Maghar Singh on 15 August 1967, at Gurusar Modia village in Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. He was born in a Jat Sikh family.

On 23 September 1990, Shah Satnam held a satsang where he publicly conferred sainthood and succession of the spiritual leadership upon Gurmeet Ram Rahim. He is married and has three children. His son is married to the daughter of Harminder Singh Jassi, a former Indian National Congress MLA from Bathinda.

Education

Ram Rahim was educated in a school in his village of Sri Gurusar Modia. In early 2016, Ram Rahim received an honorary doctorate from World Records University in London for over 50 records of different kinds.

Manoj Comics

Manoj Comics was one of the leading comic book houses in India along with its competitors like Raj Comics and Diamond Comics. Other than the regular characters, the prime strength of Manoj Comics was the stories based on Kings-Queens, Prince-Princess, Demons, Dragons, Ghosts and moral values. Almost half of the Manoj Comics published comics fall in these categories. They also published illustrations for some of the world-famous stories like Gulliver's Travels, though these are very rare to find these days.

Due to changing tastes Manoj Comics were finally closed down. Manoj Comics was the last major Indian comic book company which got shut down just before the end of the dark age of the Indian comic industry.
