Ralph Baker (linebacker)

Ralph Robert Baker (born August 25, 1942) is a former professional American football player.

Baker was drafted in both the 1964 AFL and NFL drafts—the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him with their 3rd-round pick, while the New York Jets used their 6th-round pick to select him. Baker elected to sign with New York and played linebacker position for 141 games over 11 seasons (1964–1974). In 1979, he was hired as Vice Principal of the Chief Logan High School in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. This period marked a time of trouble within the rebellious student body and, after one year, both Baker and the school's head principal resigned. He retired as principal of Tuscarora Junior High School in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, in 2010.

Baker played college football at Penn State University.

Ralph "Moon" Baker (June 28, 1902 – August 3, 1977) was an American football halfback in college.

Was the team captain of the Northwestern University football team, leading them to the Big Ten championship in 1926. Baker was an All-American along with teammate Bob Johnson. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981.

Baker, a native of Rockford, Illinois, played one year at Illinois (alongside Red Grange) before transferring to Northwestern. He played both football and basketball for three years. After years as the conference doormat, the football team rallied behind Baker's "triple threat" abilities to a second-place finish in 1925 and the conference title in 1926. He once said his greatest thrill was the day he kicked two field goals against Notre Dame. "The Four Horsemen were playing for them then, you know," he said. The sophomore drop-kicked field goals of 34 and 36 yards in the 1924 game at Soldier Field in Chicago to give his upstart Wildcats the lead. However, the Irish rallied to win the game 13-6. Baker's school record of seven field goals in one season stood until the 1960s. Ralph Baker (general)

Ralph O. "Rob" Baker is a retired United States Army Brigadier General who was formerly a major general and commander of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. He was fired from command for misconduct in connection with sexual assault and alcohol charges in March 2013, assessed a fine, demoted to brigadier general and forced to retire September 2013 after a 31-year military career. Soldiers serving under Baker at Camp Lemmonier said he had a history of heavy drinking.

Ralph Baker is a 1978 graduate of Aberdeen High School in Maryland. He then attended the United States Military Academy and received a bachelor's degree in 1982. He later earned master's degrees from Central Michigan University and the Naval War College.

Ralph Baker was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry after graduating from West Point. He has commanded the 5th Battalion of the 20th Infantry Regiment and the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Armored Division.
