Raftaar (Speed) is a 1975 Bollywood action drama film directed by Dinesh-Ramanesh and produced by S. I. Shivdasani. Its music was composed by the music directors Sonik Omi. The story writer was Rajvansh, while screenplay and dialogues were by K. B. Pathak.The lyricists were Verma Malik, Omkar Verma and Abhilash.Vinod Mehra was cast in the main role as Vikram. Mehra had started his career in Roop K. Shorey's Ek Thi Reeta (1971) and became an established star following Anuraag (1973); Raftaar was noted as one of his prominent films in the 1970s. The cast included Moushumi Chatterjee, Danny Denzongpa, Madan Puri, Ranjit, Arpana Chowdhary, and Jankidas.

Raftaar was a romantic action thriller film with drama. It involves a young city man sent to a village to work. He falls in love with a village girl who dies but mysteriously reappears in his life under another identity.

The film was given a three star rating, with its music by Sonik Omi cited as being "good".

Plot

Raftaar (rapper)

Dilin Nair (born on 16 November in Kerala, India), better known by his stage-name Raftaar, is an Indian rapper/singer. He was formerly a member of the urban music group, Mafia Mundeer, formed by Yo Yo Honey Singh. He came into the spotlight when he split from the group and was signed onto Three Records by the Punjabi band RDB. He has also started producing music for Bollywood.

Raftaar started his career as a rapper. He initially began his career with Lil Golu and Ikka, recording songs and uploading them. He then started working as a lyricist with music producer Yo Yo Honey Singh as part of the music group "Mafia Mundeer". Raftaar then split up from the group. He was supported by his friend Ankit Khanna, who introduced him to the Punjabi music band RDB, who then signed him onto their label, Three Records. Soon after the split between the RDB members, Raftaar joined Manjeet Ral (now known as Manj Musik), who served as the lead singer for RDB. Raftaar's "Swag Mera Desi", a record-breaking song, won Best Urban Song at the Britasia Music Awards in 2014.
