Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV), an enterprise virtualization product produced by Red Hat,[1] is based on the KVM hypervisor.[2] Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization uses the SPICE protocol and VDSM (Virtual Desktop Server Manager) with a RHEL-based centralized management server.
Some of the technologies of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization came from Red Hat's acquisition of Qumranet.[3] Other parts derive from oVirt.[4]
