Scott Gemmill

Scott Gemmill (born 9 June 1987 in Rutherglen) is a Scottish football forward.

Career

Gemmill began his career with St Mirren, where he made 10 appearances, all as a substitute, scoring no goals. His debut, on 9 August 2003 against Raith Rovers, at the age of 16 years 61 days made him St Mirren's youngest ever first team player. This record still stands. He was allowed to leave Saints in June 2007, and dropped down to the Scottish Second Division to join Berwick Rangers. He made 30 appearances for Berwick, scoring 8 goals, before leaving the club after only one season in June 2008.

Gemmill joined Scottish First Division side Clyde in July 2008, signing a one-year contract. He made his debut a day later, in a 2-0 victory over Annan Athletic in the Scottish Challenge Cup. He scored his first goal for Clyde on 30 August 2008, in a 3-2 victory over St Johnstone.

Gemmill was released by Clyde in June 2009 along with the rest of the out of contract players, due to the club's financial position.

R. Scott Gemmill

R. Scott Gemmill is an American television writer and producer, born in Canada. He worked extensively on ER in both capacities.

Gemmill worked on JAG as an executive story editor and writer. He joined the crew in the first season and remained until the fourth season writing a total of 18 episodes. He was nominated for a Humanitas Prize in the 60 minute category for his work on the JAG episode "Angels 30."

He joined the crew of ER in its sixth season as a supervising producer and regular writer. Alongside his fellow ER producers he was twice nominated for an Emmy Award for best drama series for his work on the sixth and seventh seasons of the show. He worked on the series until the thirteenth season and wrote a total of thirty-two episodes. In 2007 he won a Humanitas Prize in the 60 minute category for his work on the ER season 12 episode "There Are No Angels Here." The award was shared with his co-writer David Zabel. The episode followed doctors from County General who traveled overseas to provide aid work in a refugee camp in Darfur. Humanitas stated that the prize was awarded for the episodes "unflinching look at the brutality inherent in civil wars and its belief that heroism is complex, complicated and multi-layered."
