Quorn

Quorn is a meat substitute product available in the UK, Ireland, the US, Australia, Sweden, and other countries. Launched in 1985 by Marlow Foods (a joint venture between RHM and ICI) and now owned by Monde Nissin Corporation, Quorn is intended to replicate the taste and texture of meat. All Quorn foods contain mycoprotein as an ingredient, which is derived from the Fusarium venenatum fungus and is grown by fermentation using a process that has been described as similar to the production of beer or yoghurt. The fungus culture is dried and mixed with egg albumen, which acts as a binder, and then is adjusted in texture and pressed into various forms.

The carbon footprint of Quorn Frozen Mince in the UK is claimed to be at least 80% less than that of beef.

Quorn is produced as both a cooking ingredient and a range of ready meals. It is sold (largely in Europe, but also in other parts of the world) as an alternative to meat. After it switched to using free-range eggs as an ingredient, the Vegetarian Society gave the product its seal of approval.

This is a list of craters on Mars. There are hundreds of thousands of impact crater on Mars, but only some of them have names. This list here contains only named Martian craters starting with the letter O – Z (see also lists for A – G and H – N).

Large Martian craters (greater than 60 km in diameter) are named after famous scientists and science fiction authors; smaller ones (less than 60 km in diameter) get their names from towns on Earth. Craters cannot be named for living people, and small crater names are not intended to be commemorative - that is, a small crater isn't actually named after a specific town on Earth, but rather its name comes at random from a pool of terrestrial place names, with some exceptions made for craters near landing sites.
