Pygopodidae (commonly known as legless lizards, snake-lizards, or flap-footed lizards) is a family of squamates with reduced or absent limbs, and are a type of gecko. There are at least 35 species in two subfamilies and eight genera. They have unusually long, slender bodies, giving them a strong resemblance to snakes. Like snakes and most geckos, they have no eyelids, but unlike snakes, they have external ear holes and flat, unforked tongues. They are native to Australia and New Guinea.
Pygopods have no fore limbs at all, but they do possess vestigial hind limbs in the form of small, flattened flaps. These may have some role in courtship and defensive behaviour, and may even aid in locomotion through vegetation. Some species are insectivorous burrowing animals, but others are adapted to moving through dense spinifex or other vegetation. Like the geckos, pygopods lay two eggs in each clutch and nest communally. Some nests have been found to have as many as 30 eggs. Also like other geckos, pygopods have the ability to vocalise - emitting a high-pitched squeak. Snakes are incapable of vocalising.
It's so necessary
When my nerves get cooked
You keep me rockin' on steady
When my soul gets shook
Oh, you make a good thing better, baby
Take me to your sacred ground
Make me want to move all around
Make it sizzle when you
(chorus)
Bake potato cos it feels so good
Bake potato just the way I like it
Honey you're my only appetite
Come on and bake potato on a cold, cold night
Everybody needs a sanctuary
Everybody needs to scream
Sidewalks are violent
Mother nature's being challenged
Show you a place where we can let off some steam
Want you getting under my skin, baby
Want you warming up my blood
Take me for a roll in the mud
Make it sizzle when you
(chorus)
Oh! when the wind howls
Oh! when the rain comes down
Oh! when the hurricane growls
Oh! I wanna come inside for the bake potato
Ooh, you make a good thing better, baby
Warming up my blood
Take me for a roll in the mud
Make it sizzle when you
