Purple Haze

"Purple Haze" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and released as the second record single by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on March 17, 1967. As a record chart hit in several countries and the opening number on the Experience's debut American album, it was many people's first exposure to Hendrix's psychedelic rock sound.

The song features his inventive guitar playing, which uses the signature Hendrix chord and a mix of blues and Eastern modalities, shaped by novel sound processing techniques. Because of ambiguities in the lyrics, listeners often interpret the song as referring to a psychedelic experience, although Hendrix described it as a love song.

"Purple Haze" is one of Hendrix's best-known songs and appears on many Hendrix compilation albums. The song featured regularly in concerts and each of Hendrix's group configurations issued live recordings. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and is included on lists of the greatest guitar songs, including at number two by Rolling Stone and number one by Q magazine.

Cam'ron

Cameron Ezike Giles (born February 4, 1976), better known by his stage name Cam'ron (formerly Killa Cam), is an American rapper, actor and entrepreneur from Harlem, New York. He is the de facto leader of East Coast hip hop groups The Diplomats (also known as Dipset), and U.N. (Us Now). Cam'ron was also a part of the group Children of the Corn before they disbanded in 1997.

In 1998 Cam'ron released his debut album Confessions of Fire on Epic, the album would achieve gold status by the RIAA. In 2000 Cam'ron released his second album S.D.E. (Sports Drugs & Entertainment). In 2001 Cam'ron signed a new label deal with Roc-A-Fella Records and released his critically acclaimed, third studio album Come Home with Me. it achieved platinum status by the RIAA, and also contained Cam'ron's highest charting Billboard single to date, "Oh Boy," featuring his artist at the time Juelz Santana. In 2002 Cam'ron starred in the Roc-A-Fella films Paper Soldiers and Paid in Full. In 2004 Cam'ron released his fourth studio album Purple Haze to critical acclaim reaching gold status by the RIAA.

List of Eureka episodes

The following is a list of episodes for the American science fiction drama Eureka. In addition to the regularly televised episodes, there is a short webisode series called "Hide and Seek", which is available on Syfy's Eureka homepage.

The episodes in the first season were not aired in the order intended by the show's creators. Thus, there are some small inconsistencies, but such inconsistencies are minimal and were intentionally controlled. In podcast commentaries, the show's creators and star Colin Ferguson confirm that the production order was in fact the order in which they intended the show to air, but the network executives changed the order to try to place stronger episodes earlier in the run to help attract viewers.

The creators were able to make minor changes in editing and sometimes dubbed dialogue in later episodes (for instance, they removed the explicit mention of Zoe's first day at school) to minimize audience confusion.

As of July 16, 2012, a total of 77 episodes of Eureka have been aired over five seasons. A fifth season was announced on August 17, 2010, consisting of 13 episodes. On August 8, 2011, Syfy announced that season 5 would be the final season. On February 16, 2012, Syfy announced that the show's fifth and final season would premiere on April 16, 2012.

Northwestern University

Northwestern University (NU) is a private research university with campuses in Evanston and Chicago in Illinois, United States, as well as Doha, Qatar. Composed of twelve schools and colleges, Northwestern offers 124 undergraduate degrees and 145 graduate and professional degrees.

Northwestern was founded in 1851 by John Evans, for whom the City of Evanston is named, and eight other lawyers, businessmen and Methodist leaders. Its founding purpose was to serve the Northwest Territory, an area that today includes the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and parts of Minnesota. Instruction began in 1855; women were admitted in 1869. Today, the main campus is a 240-acre (97 ha) parcel in Evanston, along the shores of Lake Michigan just 12 miles north of downtown Chicago. The university's law, medical, and professional schools are located on a 25-acre (10 ha) campus in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood. In 2008, the university opened a campus in Education City, Doha, Qatar with programs in journalism and communication.

Purple Haze (album)

Purple Haze is the fourth studio album by Harlem rapper Cam'ron. The album was released on December 7, 2004, by Roc-A-Fella Records, Diplomat Records and Def Jam Recordings. The release of this album was delayed several times from November 2003, the first single "Get Em Girls" was released a year prior to the actual album release. The album debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 with 123,000 copies sold in its first week. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Reception

Online music magazine Pitchfork Media placed Purple Haze at number 114 on their list of top 200 albums of the 2000s.

Purple Haze (cannabis)

Purple Haze is a strain of cannabis developed by various Dutch seed breeders known for its purple color, abundance of white trichomes and high potency. The strain is named after Jimi Hendrix’s 1967 classic song of the same name. Purple Haze buds typically acquire vibrant hues of lavender that further justify the naming of this strain. It is widely regarded as an extinct strain. The vast majority of seed breeders regard purple haze as a myth because any cannabis strain can develop purple calyces in below optimum temperatures. Purple Haze buds are covered in crystals, giving it an almost sugared look mixed with characteristic purple.
