Awe is an emotion of respectful wonder.
AWE or awe may also refer to:
On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 (AWE1549), an Airbus A320 piloted by Captain Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles, made an unpowered emergency water landing in the Hudson River after multiple bird strikes caused both jet engines to fail. All 155 occupants, the passengers and crew, successfully evacuated from the partially submerged airframe as it sank into the river; they were rescued by nearby watercraft. Several occupants suffered injuries, a few of them serious, but only one required hospitalization overnight. The incident came to be known as the "Miracle on the Hudson", and Captain Sullenberger and the crew were hailed as heroes.
The aircraft was an Airbus A320-200, registered N106US, operating as a US Airways scheduled domestic commercial passenger flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. About three minutes into the flight, at 3:27 p.m. EST, the plane struck a flock of Canada geese during its initial climb out from LaGuardia, just northeast of the George Washington Bridge. The bird strike caused both jet engines to quickly lose power.
AWE (formerly Wealth TV) is a United States-based lifestyle and entertainment cable network privately held by Herring Broadcasting. The network operates several domestic and international television feeds. The network's primary production facilities and corporate headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is featured on numerous providers including Google Fiber and Charter Communications. It partnered with the The Washington Times in order to provide a 24-hour cable news network called the One America News Network.
The network has faced some controversies in its past; WealthTV CEO Robert Herring involved himself in the Terri Schiavo case and due to his belief that she could be cured, offered her husband $1 million to cede guardianship to her parents. He later produced a documentary hosted by anchor Brian Christie, and came under fire due to his lack of disclosure with respect to his involvement in it.
The network operates a 24/7 domestic high definition feed, (which is letterboxed for 4:3 TVs on SD slots of cable providers), a 24/7 3D service for worldwide deployment, branded under the "AWE 3D" name; and a 24/7 international feed designed for exhibition around the world outside the United States.
Sacred means revered due to sanctity, is in general the state of being holy (perceived by religious individuals as associated with divinity) or sacred (considered worthy of spiritual respect or devotion; or inspiring awe or reverence among believers).
From an anthropological or atheistic perspective, the religious view of the sacred is an emic perspective on a culture's collection of thoughts and practices that function as a basis for the community's social structure.
Objects are often considered holy or sacred if used for spiritual purposes, such as the worship or service of gods. The property is often ascribed to people ("a holy man", a "holy prophet" who is venerated by his followers), objects (a "sacred artifact" that is venerated and blessed), times ("holy days"), or places ("holy places", "sacred ground").
The word "sacred" descends from the Latin sacrum, which referred to the gods or anything in their power, and to sacerdos and sanctum, set apart. It was generally conceived spatially, as referring to the area around a temple.
Holy is U.D.O.'s seventh album. It was recorded and mixed by Stefan Kaufmann at ROXX Studio in Pulheim and is the band's first album with the guitarist Igor Gianola, who had played with Ronni Le Tekrø in Wild Willy's Gang. The band recruited the drummer Lorenzo Milani after the release of the album; in the liner notes "guess who" replaces the name of the drummer.
All songs written by Udo Dirkschneider and Stefan Kaufmann.
Holy @#%*! was an extreme sports viral video reality television series which aired on Versus in the United States from 2009 to 2011. 13 episodes exist and aired on the channel until the spring of 2011, when it was removed from airing due to Versus coming into the purview of NBC Sports after Versus's owner Comcast was approved to take over NBCUniversal, and NBC Sports found low-brow clip programs like Holy @$%*! and Whacked Out Sports were inappropriate for what it saw as a serious contender against ESPN when it was re-branded as the NBC Sports Network in January 2012.
The program was purposefully titled so that the second word was bleeped when said on-air.
