The PSI-Lords are a fictional team of superbeings from the Valiant Comics universe. The characters first appeared in Rai and the Future Force #21 after a cameo in Magnus #36 and were featured in a short-lived, eponymous series of ten issues between 1994 and 1995. The characters and series occupied Valiant's 41st century setting.
The Psi-Lords are 41st century descendants of the H.A.R.D. Corps, a group set in modern Valiant continuity. The H.A.R.D Corps fought Toyo Harada of Harbinger using brain implants which allowed the Corp to access individual Harbinger superpowers. In 2999, the H.A.R.D. Corps leaves Earth when Toyo Harada is slain. They continue improving the brain implants until nanites are developed, allowing H.A.R.D. Corps to access all Harbinger powers simultaneously. The new technology halts aging, even reversing it for those past their prime. Red glowing eyes are a side effect, similar to Bloodshot, another Valiant nanite-powered hero. Conquering a planet occupied by Spider Aliens, the Corps establishes a home base, after which, the H.A.R.D. Corp is known as the PSI-Lords or Starwatchers.

Psi is a DC character created by Paul Kupperberg and Carmine Infantino for Daring New Adventures of Supergirl #1 (November 1982).
Her real name is Gayle Marsh. At the age of twelve, she developed psychic powers, primarily psychokinesis. After her parents died she was raised by the scientist David Pendergast who was preparing to fight a new menace called "the Decay." In college, she took the alias of Psi and fought Supergirl several times, thinking that Supergirl was the Decay. The truth was that David Pendergast was an extension of her own fears. Realizing that the Decay was David and herself, she put a stop to Pendergast and herself.
Later she joined the Suicide Squad for a mission in Central America, but she was killed by the Rocket Red Brigade. Her allies, Mister 104, the Thinker and the Weasel do not survive the mission.
During the events of Blackest Night, Psi's corpse is reanimated as a member of the Black Lantern Corps alongside several other fallen Suicide Squad members. Psi is apparently destroyed by the Manhunter's self-destruct mechanism to unleashing an explosion of Green Lantern energy that eradicates the Black Lanterns.
Psi is a free instant messaging client for the XMPP protocol (including such services as Google Talk) which uses the Qt toolkit. It runs on Linux (and other Unix-like operating systems), Windows, Mac OS X and eComStation (OS/2).
Ready-to-install deb and RPM packages are available for many Linux distributions. Successful ports of Psi were reported for Haiku,FreeBSD and Sun Solaris operating systems.
Due to Psi's free/open-source nature, several forks have appeared, which occasionally contain features that may appear in future official Psi versions. These official and unofficial builds are documented on their external wiki page.
The goal of the Psi project is to create a powerful, yet easy-to-use XMPP client that tries to strictly adhere to the XMPP drafts and XMPP XEPs. This means that in most cases, Psi will not implement a feature unless there is an accepted standard for it in the XMPP community. Doing so ensures that Psi will be compatible, stable, and predictable.
