Kavana may refer to:
Kavanah or kavana (also pronounced /kaˈvonə/ by some Ashkenazi Jews) (כַּוָּנָה; in Biblical Hebrew kawwānā), plural kavanot or kavanos, (Intention or "direction of the heart") is the mindset often described as necessary for Jewish rituals (mitzvot).
Once the subject of great debate among medieval commentators, traditional Jewish sources now accept that fulfilling mitzvot without at least minimal kavanah is insufficient.
Different Jewish authorities see various levels of kavanah required for various rituals, and especially for prayer. Some prayerbooks (siddurim) list kavanot for particular prayers. Some particular kavanot are associated with particular holidays, for example Sukkot, Pesach, Shavuot, and others.
Kavanah in prayer may require understanding of the words of prayer, and not merely reciting the sounds. Some perceive this as especially difficult to achieve for many Jews today when they pray using liturgical Hebrew, which many Jews outside of Israel do not understand.
Some kavanot are particular to the tradition of Kabbalah, as a meditation, or in Hasidic Judaism. In Kabbalah, Kavanah often refers to the permutations of the divine name that aim at overcoming the separation of the forces in the Upper World.

Protected may refer to:
In object-oriented programming, a class is an extensible program-code-template for creating objects, providing initial values for state (member variables) and implementations of behavior (member functions or methods). In many languages, the class name is used as the name for the class (the template itself), the name for the default constructor of the class (a subroutine that creates objects), and as the type of objects generated by instantiating the class; these distinct concepts are easily conflated.
When an object is created by a constructor of the class, the resulting object is called an instance of the class, and the member variables specific to the object are called instance variables, to contrast with the class variables shared across the class.
In some languages, classes are only a compile-time feature (new classes cannot be declared at runtime), while in other languages classes are first-class citizens, and are generally themselves objects (typically of type Class
or similar). In these languages, a class that creates classes is called a metaclass.
Protected is a 1975 documentary film, narrated by Don Brady and Sydney born producer Robert Hughes. The film was directed by Alessandro Cavadini. It was an exposé of the ill-treatment of Aboriginal workers by white men. The details of what life was like for Aboriginal Australians on Palm Island became more widely known when Alessandro Cavadini and Carolyn Strachan recreated the strike in 1957 by hundreds of the Island’s residents even though there was huge resistance from local authorities.
Some 22 years later in 2007, Aboriginal activist, and convicted Palm Island rioter Lex Wotton presented a screening of the film to the Film Fanatics Society at Petersham Bowling Club. He recalled watching the film as a schoolboy and seeing his father on film. He said that screening opened his eyes to the way "things were different on Palm". He also said "There are numerous things that people haven't documented but this [film] was one thing that brought what was happening to the indigenous people to the attention of the wider community.
Digging deep inside my mind looking for a clearer view
Think I've found the answer now and every one led back to you
And I believe with time and chance that everything was meant to be
Seems that luck is on my side
I know that someone's watching me
A brand new thought occurred to me today
It's funny how the truth can light your way
And every woman, every man, it's time for you to understand
Can't you see that there's a bigger plan
I am protected by your love for me
You've given me the strength to be protected
When I'm out there on my own
I am protected every night and day
Protected since you came my way
When you're protected you can't be alone
And I have wandered every land, smiled and shook a stranger's hand
You told me I should never be frightened of the truth you see
Satisfied I freed my soul, I've seen my mission turn to gold
When troubles they out-number you your heard will knowc just what to do
A brand new thought occurred to me today
It's funny how the truth can light your way
And every woman, every man, it's time for you to understand
Can't you see that there's a bigger plan
(Repeat chorus twice)
Protected every night and day
Protected since you came my way.
