Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw (born 9 November 1999) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Middle Income Group (MIG) Cricket Club in Mumbai and is the captain of Rizvi Springfield High School and the Mumbai under-16 team. In November 2013 he set the highest score by any batsman in any organised form of cricket since 1901 when he hit 546 in a Harris Shield elite division match.

He is a right hand batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler all rounder whose abilities as a cricketing prodigy have led to repeated comparisons with Sachin Tendulkar. Shaw has been trained by a one year younger than him, Chetanya Bhatti who is from Delhi. Shaw is widely tipped to become a full India international.

Shaw was a central figure in the documentary film Beyond All Boundaries and has twice been selected to travel to England to further his cricketing education.

Teen Sensation Prithvi Shaw has earned a deal worth Rs 36 lakh with SG, who have been endorsed by stalwarts like Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag in the past.

Prithvi

Prithvi (Sanskrit: पृथ्वी, pṛthvī, also pṛthivī) "the Vast One" is the Sanskrit name for the earth as well as the name of a devi in Hinduism and Buddhism.

As Pṛthvī Mātā "Mother Earth" she contrasts with Dyaus Pita "father sky". In the Rigveda, Earth and Sky are primarily addressed in the dual as Dyavaprthivi. She is associated with the cow. Prithu, an incarnation of Vishnu, milked her in cow's form.

She is a national personification in Indonesia, where she is known as Ibu Pertiwi.

In Buddhism

In Buddhist texts and visual representations, Pṛthvī is described as both protecting Gautama Buddha and as being his witness for his enlightenment. Prithvi appears in Early Buddhism in the Pāli Canon, dispelling the temptation figure Mara by attesting to Gautama Buddha's worthiness to attain enlightenment. The Buddha is very frequently illustrated in figurative art wielding bhūmisparśa or "earth-touching" mudrā.

The Pṛithvī Sūkta

Pṛithvī Sūkta or Bhūmī Sūkta is a celebrated hymn of the Atharvaveda (AVŚ 12.1) dedicated to Prthivi. It consists of 63 verses.

Prithvi (missile)

Prithvi (Sanskrit: pṛthvī "Earth") is a tactical surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) developed by DRDO of India under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP). It is deployed by India's Strategic Forces Command.

Development and History

The Government of India launched the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program in 1983 to achieve self-sufficiency in the development and production of wide range of Ballistic Missiles, Surface to Air Missiles etc. Prithvi was the first missile to be developed under the Program. DRDO attempted to build Surface-to-air Missile under Project Devil. Variants make use of either liquid or both liquid and solid fuels. Developed as a battlefield missile, it could carry a nuclear warhead in its role as a tactical nuclear weapon.

Summary

Prithvi (Sunil Shetty), a famous photographer, and Neha (Shilpa Shetty) fall in love and soon get married. Prithvi and Neha both fly to America for their honeymoon, but when Neha uses the bathroom at a restaurant, she gets kidnapped. Prithvi is very scared and would do anything to get Neha back. He takes the help of Lucky (Shweta Menon). When Prithvi was near a hospital he finds Neha but she has fainted, but once she wakes up she does not recognize Prithvi. The girl he found was in fact a duplicate of Neha whose name was Rashmi. Neha was threatened by her kidnapper (Faraz Khan) as she should prove him as innocent for a murder case. Prithvi and Rashmi rush to the court and say that he is not innocent and has gotten a duplicate of the girl. Prithvi finds Neha and they both live happily ever after.

Shaw is a neighborhood located in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C., named after Union Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, the commander of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War.

Geography

Shaw is roughly bounded by M Street, NW or Massachusetts Avenue NW to the south; New Jersey Avenue, NW to the east; Florida Avenue, NW to the north; and 11th Street, NW to the west. The area also includes the U Street Corridor, which is the commercial hub of the Shaw area, extending westward to 16th Street NW.
