Mili Avital

Mili Avital (Hebrew: מילי אביטל‎; born 30 March 1972) is an Israeli-American actress. Avital built a successful international career. She started in her native Israel, starring on stage, film and Television, winning the Israeli Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992, and nominated for Best Actress in 1994. That year she moved to New York and started to work almost immediately in America. She has maintained her career in both countries since.

Personal life

Avital was born in Jerusalem, the daughter of graphic designers Noni and Iko Avital. Her family is Jewish. She was raised in Tel Aviv and Ra'anana. She attended the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts in Givatayim. She moved to New York in 1994, and continues to reside there with her husband, screenwriter Charles Randolph (The Life of David Gale, "The Interpreter", "Love and Other Drugs"), and their two children.

Avital served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Haifa University 2009-2013.

American career

As one of the most highly regarded actresses in her native Israel, Avital has achieved international success with her diverse starring roles in film and television. She began her professional career on stage, during her senior year in high school, in Dangerous Liaisons at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv.

Asi Cohen

Asi Cohen (Hebrew: אסי כהן, also 'Assi'; born October 10, 1974) is an Israeli comedian and actor. He is best known for his appearances in the feature film Colombian Love (alongside Mili Avital), as well as for television performances in Love Hurts (alongside Dana Modan), "Rak BeYsrael" with his comedy duo of "Asi and Guri", his role in Mesudarim (US title Loaded), and for his part in Eretz Nehederet, where he has impersonated Avigdor Lieberman, Raleb Majadele, and Uri Geller among others.

In a Ynet poll conducted in May 2008, Asi Cohen was selected by respondents as the funniest Israeli for the second year in a row. He currently resides in Tel Aviv and is married with two daughters.

Biography

Cohen was raised and educated in the coastal city of Ashdod. During his military service he was an actor for the Israel Defense Forces' theatre, members of which are soldiers on active duty. Following his military service he worked as a stand up comic at the Domino Gross club in Tel Aviv, where he partnered with fellow comedian Guri Alfi to create the comedy duo of "Asi and Guri".

Adi Ezroni

Adi Ezroni (Hebrew: עדי עזרוני‎; born November 16, 1978) is an Israeli actress, model, producer, and TV presenter.

Career

Two weeks after she was discharged from the IDF, Ezroni joined the Israeli kids channel, Arutz HaYeladim, where she worked until 2005. She played in "Zbeng!" as Sivan, "Hapijamot" as a Guest Star and in the movie "Wild" as Rananit. She also modeled for "Lord Kitsch".

Ezroni has appeared in Israeli commercials for Bezek, Elite and Spring, and appeared alongside many other participants in "Festigal 2001", where she sang "Riding on Dragons".

On Channel 10, Ezroni appeared as Shira in the drama "Matay Nitnashek", with Lior Ashkenazi.

In 2010, Ezroni produced the film "Holly". In that year she start to play in the drama "Hatufim" ("Hostages") as Yael Ben-Hurin.

Prisoners of War (original title in Hebrew: חטופים Translit.: Hatufim, Khatufim Translated: "Abductees") is an Israeli television drama series made by Keshet and originally aired on Israel's Channel 2 from March to May 2010. A second season aired in Israel from October to December 2012, and a third season is planned. The series was created by Israeli director, screenwriter and producer Gideon Raff. In 2010 it won the Israeli Academy Award for Television for Best Drama Series.

The show was acquired by 20th Century Fox Television before it aired in Israel, and was adapted into the acclaimed series Homeland for Showtime in the United States.

Plot overview

The series, set in 2008, depicts three Israeli soldiers who were captured 17 years ago while on a secret mission with their unit in Lebanon.

Season 1

The story begins with the soldiers' return home after years of negotiations for their freedom. Nimrod Klein and Uri Zach return alive, along with the remains of Amiel Ben-Horin.

Yael Abecassis

Yael Abecassis (Hebrew: יעל אבקסיס‎; born 19 July 1967) is an Israeli actress and model. She married Israeli actor Lior Miller in 1996 and has one child. They divorced in 2003. Abecassis is the daughter of Raymonde Abecassis, a Moroccan-born Israeli singer and actress.

Career

Abecassis began modeling at the age of 14. She later branched into television and film, appearing in commercials and starring as Rivka in Kadosh, a 1999 retelling of The Dybbuk directed by Amos Gitai. In the 1990s, she starred as a host on Israeli television programs for children, and produced music videos for babies and young children. Towards the end of the 1990s, she left television to pursue a career as a dramatic actress. She starred in several Amos Gitai movies and has won favorable reviews, especially in France.

She is married to Israeli entrepreneur and philanthropist Ronny Douek.
