Print, A Quarterly Journal of the Graphic Arts was a limited edition quarterly periodical begun in 1940 and continued under different names up to the present day as Print, a bimonthly American magazine about visual culture and design.

In its current format, Print documents and critiques commercial, social, and environmental design from every angle: the good (how New York’s public-school libraries are being reinvented through bold graphics), the bad (how Tylenol flubbed its disastrous ad campaign for suspicious hipsters), and the ugly (how Russia relies on Soviet symbolism to promote sausage and real estate).

Print is a general-interest magazine, written by cultural reporters and critics who look at design in its social, political, and historical contexts. From newspapers and book covers to Web-based motion graphics, from corporate branding to indie-rock posters, from exhibitions to cars to monuments, Print shows its audience of designers, art directors, illustrators, photographers, educators, students, and enthusiasts of popular culture why our world looks the way it looks, and why the way it looks matters. Print underwent a complete redesign in 2005.

Share (film)

Share is a 2015 American short drama film written and directed by Pippa Bianco, and starring Taissa Farmiga, Keir Gilchrist, Andre Royo, and Madisen Beaty. It follows a 15-year-old girl as she returns to school after an explicit video of her goes viral online. The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 14, 2015, where it won the Special Jury Recognition Award for Narrative Short. It was then selected as the only American short film in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, screening on May 20, 2015. The film won the first prize Cinéfondation Award at the festival. It went on to screen at the Telluride Film Festival on September 6, 2015.

On her first day back at school, 15-year-old Krystal (Taissa Farmiga) attempts to restore her privacy after a sexually explicit video of her goes viral on the Internet, from a night she doesn't remember.

Nielsen ratings

Nielsen ratings are the audience measurement systems developed by Robert F. Elder and Louis F Woodruff and sold to Nielsen Company, in an effort to determine the audience size and composition of television programming in the United States. Nielsen Media Research was founded by Arthur C. Nielsen, a market analyst whose career had begun in the 1920s with brand advertising analysis and had expanded into radio market analysis during the 1930s, culminating in Nielsen ratings of radio programming, which was meant to provide statistics as to the markets of radio shows. The first Nielsen ratings for radio programs were released the first week of December 1947. They measured the top 20 programs in four areas: total audience, average audience, cumulative audience and homes per dollar spent for time and talent.

In 1950, Nielsen moved to television, developing a ratings system using the methods he and his company had developed for radio. That method has since become the primary source of audience measurement information in the television industry around the world.

Print&Share

Print&Share is a shareware program developed by Winking and distributed by Ricoh Europe. It is a combination of a virtual printer and an application software for Microsoft Windows. It supports creating PDF, PDF/A, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, XML, TXT, EMF, BMP files. The software can also email, fax, upload via FTP or connect to Microsoft SharePoint, DocuWare, BvL Archivio and Documind. It is also possible to enhance existing documents by adding extra content (e.g. barcodes).

The Eco version is capable of removing content and empty spaces.

The program is translated in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Danish) and is available in different versions (Light, Professional, Corporate, Eco).

History

Print&Share was introduced by Ricoh Belgium in 2009. In April 2010 it got introduced by the operation company Ricoh Netherlands. In 2011 the European headquarters of Ricoh made an exclusive distribution agreement with Winking. Two months later Print&Share got launched in EMEA.
