Preview(s) or The Preview may refer to:
Preview (Jessica Vale) is a fictional character, a mutant appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Before being depowered, she had the ability of short-term precognition, usually minutes in advance. She is the sister of fellow Xavier Institute for Higher Learning student Sarah Vale (codename Network). Preview first appeared in New X-Men: Academy X #12 (2005).
Preview is a member of the Paragons training squad at the Xavier Institute, where she is voted the "biggest drama queen". Preview proves to be difficult to the Paragons because she chooses not to participate in some activities because she knows their outcomes, such as the Paragons' failure in a school-wide competition. She shows displeasure at the lack of surprise in everyday life due to the nature of her powers.
Preview is one of scores of mutants who lose their powers after the events of the House of M.
It is suggested in New X-Men, vol. 2 #32 that Preview is alive following William Stryker's attack on a bus of depowered students. In this issue, a memorial is held at the school for the departed, and while Jessie's sister Sarah is mentioned as one of the deceased, Jessie is not, and an unnamed girl with a similar appearance to Jessie is seen at the service. In addition, writers Chris Yost and Craig Kyle confirmed that she was not one of the students on the bus at the time of the explosion.
Preview is the second EP by Australian singer-songwriter, Kym Campbell. Campbell toured in support of Preview across Australia and Japan in 2010. Campbell's release of "Preview" drew the attention of Japanese label Pony Canyon, leading to the release of Campbell's first full length album, "Real Life" in 2011.
Credits for Preview are available on the EP cover notes. All songs written and arranged by Kym Campbell.
Previews are a set of public performances of a theatrical presentation that precede its official opening. The purpose of previews is to allow the director and crew to identify problems and opportunities for improvement that weren't found during rehearsals and to make adjustments before critics are invited to attend. The duration of the preview period varies, and ticket prices may be reduced.
The term can also be used to describe an exhibition of a film to evaluate an audience's reaction and make possible changes before its official release. (This is different from a "trailer", a short advertisement for a finished film.) To avoid this confusion, "test screening" would be a more appropriate term than "preview".
Preview is a computing function to display a document, page, or film before it is produced in its final form. In the case of printed material this is known as "print preview".
Using Preview feature, users can preview and see the current stage of the process before producing into a final form. Preview lets users to visualize current/final product and correct possible errors easily before finalizing the product. Preview is necessary for markup language editing software like Web development applications.
Web development application like Adobe Dreamweaver and most HTML editors have 'Preview in Browser' feature. During webpage development, you must preview the page in a browser to see the definitive end result. Though browsers in general produce the same results, each browser version can display HTML pages somewhat differently. Preview in Browser shows what the codes will appear in specified Web Browser. For seeing the difference and seeing what your site visitors will see after you publish your pages, the Preview function exists.
Preview is the image viewer and PDF viewer of the OS X operating system; it enables users to view and print digital images and Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Like Mac OS X itself, it originated in the NeXTSTEP operating system from NeXT.
Preview uses Apple's implementation of the PDF specification, the Aqua graphical user interface, the Quartz graphics layer, and the ImageIO and Core Image frameworks.
Preview can open the following file types:
The version of Preview included with OS X 10.3 could loop animated GIFs via an optional "play" button that could be added to the toolbar. With OS X 10.4, Preview lost playback functionality and animated GIFs would instead display as individual frames in a numbered sequence.
As of OS X 10.9.2 Preview does not support ISO-standardized PDF (ISO 32000), and when saving, destroys aspects of PDF files without warning to the user.
Preview can also encrypt PDF documents, and restrict their use; for example, it is possible to save an encrypted PDF so that a password is required to copy data from the document, or to print it. However, encrypted PDFs cannot be edited further, so the original author should always keep an unencrypted version.
