  • Pretty Girls (band)

Pretty Girls was a 3-piece indie rock band from Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Their unique sound combined elements of surf, garage, neo-psychedelia and power pop. The band consisted of Kyla Bostick (vocals and bass guitar,) Robert Maloy (guitar) and Brandon Seymour (drums). Their style has been compared to artists such as Best Coast, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tame Impala and fellow South Florida natives Surfer Blood.

    History

Pretty Girls was formed by Robert Maloy and Brandon Seymour in July 2012. The two met while playing shows together with other bands in the South Florida local music scene. In November 2012, they released their first single "Wanna Go Home" and later released their debut EP titled "Famous Forever."

In June 2013, Pretty Girls was voted Best Rock Band in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times Reader's Choice Awards. In September 2013, Pretty Girls was named Best Rock Band in South Florida by SouthFlorida.com and the Sun-Sentinel. Although Pretty Girls broke up in May of 2015, Maloy and Seymour continue to pursue joint musical ventures, and remain active in the Church of Scientology.

when i first saw her at the show, walked over and said hey let's go
she was the prettiest girl i'd ever seen, do you know what i mean
she was the one i'd been looking for i can't take it anymore i though we were
going to have so much fun that was before she pulled a gun
now what can i do what can i say
she's got a gun to my head and i can't run away
why do pretty girls carry guns
was she going to kill me just for fun
why do pretty girls carry guns
was she going to kill me just for fun
    and can you tell me
why is she pointing this gun at my head
in a few minutes will i be dead
i pleaded and begged and i got on my knees
    i just wanna leave
so i said i have to go to the bathroom
she said she'd kill me if i wasn't back soon
but i jumped out that window and ran as far as my legs would let me go
why do pretty girls carry guns
was she going to kill me just for fun
why do pretty girls carry guns
was she going to kill me just for fun
i think i'll miss her even though she tried to kill me
because she was the most prettiest girl that i'll every see
i though we were going to have so much fun,
