Oriental cuckoo

The Oriental cuckoo or Horsfields cuckoo (Cuculus optatus) is a bird belonging to the genus Cuculus in the cuckoo family Cuculidae. It was formerly classified as a subspecies of the Himalayan cuckoo (C. saturatus) with the name Oriental cuckoo used for the combined species. Differences in voice and size suggest that they should be treated as a separate species. The binomial name Cuculus horsfieldi has often been used instead of Cuculus optatus but is now usually considered to be a junior synonym.

Description

It is 30-32 centimetres long with a wingspan of 51-57 centimetres and a weight of 73-156 grams. The adult male has a grey head, breast and upperparts. The belly is creamy-white with dark bars. The vent is frequently buff with few markings. The legs and feet are orange-yellow and there is a bare yellow ring around the eye. Adult females and juveniles occur in two morphs. The grey morph is similar to the male but has a brownish wash on the breast. The rufous morph is reddish-brown above, paler on the underparts and with strong dark barring all over including the rump.

Poo (Cabrales)

Poo (Asturian: Po) is one of nine parishes in Cabrales, a municipality of the autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain.

It has an area of 10.28 km², and a population of 163 (INE 2015) all in the same settement. Poo is found some 158 meters above sea level. It lies 1.5 km from Carreña, the capital of Cabrales.

Poo (film)

Poo (English: Flower) is a Tamil language film directed by Sasi, based on the short story Veyilodu Poi written by Thamizh Selvan. The film produced by Moser Baer and Nesagee Cinemas, featured Srikanth and Parvathy in the lead roles. The film released in November 2008 to widespread critical acclaim, winning awards in international and regional film ceremonies.

Plot

The film is set in a village named Kongankulam (Close to Alangulam), located between Rajapalayam and Sivakasi in southern Tamil Nadu. It entails two different dreams of two different people for one person. The main aspects of this film are of the selfless, deep love and admiration that Maari (Parvathy) develops for her cousin Thangarasu (Srikanth) and the love and expectations of a poor, hardworking father (Ram) to his son Thangarasu.
