Ponte, a word meaning bridge in Italian, Portuguese and Galician languages, may refer to:
Ponte is the fifth rione of Rome, and is located in Municipio I. Its name (meaning "bridge" in Italian) comes from Ponte Sant'Angelo, which connects Ponte with the rione of Borgo. This bridge was built by Emperor Hadrian (and originally named after him Pons Aelius) in 134 AD to connect his mausoleum to the rest of the city. Though Pope Sixtus V changed the rione limits so that the bridge belongs now to Borgo, not to Ponte any more, the area has kept its name. Its logo is obviously a bridge.
In ancient Rome, the area belonged to the IX Augustan region called Circus Flaminius, that was a part of the Campus Martius. Nero built another bridge, that was called Neronianus or triumphalis because the Via Triumphalis, the Triumphal Way, passed over it: Starting with Titus, the victorious Emperors celebrating their Triumphs entered Rome marching through it.
Nero's bridge was also called Pons Vaticanus (meaning "Vatican Bridge" in Latin), because it connected the Ager Vaticanus to the left bank, later Pons ruptus ("broken bridge"), because it was already broken in the Middle Ages. In ancient Rome there was a port that was used to carry the materials for temples and great works to the Campus Martius.
Ponte is the name of a town and comune in the Province of Benevento, Campania Region, Italy. It is a member of the Titerno "Local Action Group" (GAL) and its name means bridge in Italian language.
The municipality is located some km in north-west of Benevento and borders with Casalduni, Fragneto Monforte, Paupisi, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Lupo and Torrecuso. It counts 7 little civil parishes (frazioni): Canale, Colli, Ferrarisi, Monte, Piana, Puglia and Staglio.
Ponte has its origins in an ancient Roman stone bridge which was the passage of the Via Latina over the Alento river. The first settlements can be traced back to Roman Empire times, in fact it was here that the roadway Via Latina, connecting Benevento with Rome through the Telesia Valley, passed. The bridge that the passed over the Alento river is today known as the St. Anastasia Bridge. The town was very important even during the Lombard domination. The old town is of medieval origin, although little is left of the castle of Norman origin built in the eleventh century CE. There was also a large Benedictine abbey built in the eighth century AD. The territory was ruled by the Count Ranulf Baldwin Norman, who took care of the development, renewing and expanding the ancient church of Denis which he dedicated to St. Benedict. In later times, Ponte belonged to the major families of the Kingdom, such as the Sanframondos, the Carafas, and the Caracciolos, for example. Ponte was a stronghold of the House of Sanframondo, but during this period, due to a plague and a violent earthquake, which devastated a good part of the area, Ponte became uninhabited. In 1585 it was bought by Domenico Sarri, who retained the title of Duke of Ponte until the abolition of the feudal regime. On June 18, 1913, the city was grant autonomy from the frazione of Casalduni.
Dada (/ˈdɑːdɑː/) or Dadaism was an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century. Dada in Zürich, Switzerland, began in 1916 at Cabaret Voltaire, spreading to Berlin shortly thereafter, but the height of New York Dada was the year before, in 1915. The term anti-art, a precursor to Dada, was coined by Marcel Duchamp around 1913 when he created his first readymades. Dada, in addition to being anti-war, had political affinities with the radical left and was also anti-bourgeois.
At least two works qualified as pre-Dadaist, a posteriori, had already sensitized the public and artists alike: Ubu Roi (1896) by Alfred Jarry, and the ballet Parade (1916–17) by Erik Satie. The roots of Dada lay in pre-war avant-garde. Cubism and the development of collage, combined with Wassily Kandinsky’s theoretical writings and abstraction, detached the movement from the constraints of reality and convention. The influence of French poets and the writings of German Expressionists liberated Dada from the tight correlation between words and meaning. Avant-garde circles outside France knew of pre-war Parisian developments. They had seen (or participated in) Cubist exhibitions held at Galería Dalmau, Barcelona (1912), Galerie Der Sturm in Berlin (1912), the Armory show in New York (1913), SVU Mánes in Prague (1914), several Jack of Diamonds exhibitions in Moscow and at De Moderne Kunstkring, Amsterdam (between 1911 and 1915). Futurism developed in response to the work of various artists. Dada subsequently combined these approaches.
Dada is an action Hindi film made in 2000. A revenge drama, with Mithun in the lead role.
A story of a simpleton whose life changes when he witnesses a shoot-out of a Don and rescues him. The don takes him as his successor. How the negative elements of the underworld influence him forms the film's finale.
Dada is a three piece rock band from California (United States). The band is made up of Michael Gurley (guitar/co-lead vocals), Joie Calio (bass/co-lead vocals) and Phil Leavitt (drums).
The band's songs feature both Michael and Joie sharing the vocals on each song. The group write highly melodic, harmony laden tunes, and their constant touring with two and a half to three hour performances has won them a wide fanbase.
1992 saw the release of their debut album Puzzle. First single "Dizz Knee Land" quickly became a staple of radio across the U.S. and reached as far as Australia, where the song and album went on high rotation on national radio station 'Triple J'. "Dizz Knee Land" reached number 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, number 5 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and number 27 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart;Puzzle went on to sell more than half a million copies and earned an RIAA Gold Record award. dada toured for the album with bands such as Crowded House and Izzy Stradlin & the Ju Ju Hounds, as well as Sting.
Te tengo que ser sincera
No me importa el qué dirán
Ni lo que estarán pensando
Ni lo que van a pensar
A la corta y a la larga
Lo que digan me da igual
No quiero vivir la vida
Al compás de los demás
Yo sigo mi propio rumbo
Rechazo conformidad
Viviendo muy bien la vida
Sin mirar jamás atrás
Sembrando mi andar de flores
Busco la felicidad
Haciendo lo que me gusta
Sin herir a nadie más
Si yo digo que algo es blanco
Dicen negro está mejor
De cada cosa que hago
Todos tienen su opinión
Y no hay forma de aplacarlos
Es mi franca conclusión
Prefiero seguir el paso
Que me dicte el corazón
Conozco mejor que nadie
Lo que me va a hacer feliz
Que en cuestiones de la vida
Ya no soy una aprendiz
Bailar cada vez que pueda
Es lo que yo decidí
Disfrutando del momento
Desde el día en que nací
A bailar la vida es para gozar
Que bailando se van las penas
Que agobain el corazón, tú ves
A bailar la vida es para gozar
Si temprano te acuestas
No siempre va a amanecer
Por eso sigue rumbeando de buena fe
A bailar la vida es para gozar
Para bien o para mal
Lo que digan ya a mi me de igual
A bailar la vida es para gozar
El que vive siempre criticando
Hay que lástima me da
Yo le digo
A bailar la vida es para gozar
Aprende a bailar y disfrutarás
Yo sé que disfrutarás
Si tú no bailas, no gozas
Si tú no bailas, no gozos ná
Aprende a bailar y disfrutarás
Esos que viven del cuento
Mira de rumba no saben ná
Si tú no bailas, no gozas
Se goza más,
Tú versa
Aprende a bailar y disfrutarás
Que yo disfruto de la vida
Y a ti te pongo a gozar
Bailar cada vez que pueda
Es lo que yo decidí
Disfrutando del momento
Desde el día en que nací
