El Pollo Loco

El Pollo Loco is a restaurant chain based in the United States, specializing in Mexican-style grilled chicken. Restaurant service consists of: dine-in, take-out, with some locations offering drive through options. The company is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California and operates over 400 (as of March 2014) company-owned and franchised restaurants in the Southwestern United States. "El Pollo Loco" is Spanish for "The Crazy Chicken".

El Pollo Loco primarily prepares Mexican chicken entrees. The company describes its chicken as "citrus-marinated and fire-grilled."

History

Juan Francisco Ochoa started the restaurant in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1975.

By 1979, the chain had expanded throughout northern Mexico. In 1980, its first U.S. restaurant opened in Los Angeles, California, at 503 Alvarado Street, near Sixth Street.

In 1983, the American restaurants in the chain were acquired by Denny's, with an agreement that the Ochoa family would continue to operate the restaurants in Mexico.

Pollo

Adrián José Hernández Acosta (born 2 May 1983), known as Pollo, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder.

Football career

Born in Mogán, Las Palmas, Pollo played youth football at UD Las Palmas. His professional debuts were made at neighbours UD Vecindario, where he went on to appear in the fourth and third divisions during three years.

In 2005 Pollo signed for Atlético Madrid, spending two seasons with the reserves also in the third level. On 6 January 2007 he played his first and only game in La Liga, coming on as a substitute for Luciano Galletti in the last minute of the home fixture against Gimnàstic de Tarragona (0–0).

Pollo returned to his native Canary Islands in the 2007 summer, joining Universidad de Las Palmas CF in division three. After two solid campaigns, especially the second, he returned to former youth club Las Palmas, now in the second tier.

Pollo (sometimes stylized as POLLO) is a rap group formed in 2010 in São Paulo by the MCs Luiz Tomim (also known as “Tomim”), Adriel de Menezes (also known as "AdR"), and DJ Kalfani. The band found fame with its hit “Vagalumes”, which has had over 30 million views on YouTube. In September 2013, after the disappearance of Adriel Luis Tomim, DJ Kalfani and Luiz Tomim announced they were fulfilling the touring schedule and commitments until 31 December 2013, when they would disband and stop performing. Three days later, after a decision by the remaining band members, Adriel stated that the band would not discontinue.

2011-2012: Vim Pra Dominar o Mundo

The group was originally formed in 2010, recording and writing entirely in a home production environment, and distributing their music via the internet. The first song which was professionally studio recorded was "Trama", in 2010. Pollo became known on the internet for the song "Zica do Bagui", from collaborator Bonde da Stronda. In 2012, they announced a new member, DJ Kalfani, son of KL Jay from Racionais MC’s. In 2012, the group released the clips "Trama", "Pirituba City", "As Quatro", "Buxixos & Simpatias", and "Vagalumes".
