Klinik

Klinik, (sometimes called The Klinik), is an industrial music band from Belgium, originally formed around 1982 by electro-synthpop practitioner Marc Verhaeghen, who is the only constant member.

History

Marc Verhaeghen originally formed Klinik in the early-to-mid 1980s; the exact date varies depending on the source. The group is normally described as one of the most influential Belgian industrial bands in history.

In 1985, Verhaeghen joined forces with two other bands, Absolute Body Control (with Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem), and "The Maniacs" (Sandy Nys) to form one "super group" "Absolute Controlled Clinical Maniacs". This rather unwieldy name was soon dropped in favour of the shorter name "The Klinik". Nys soon left the band to form "Hybryds", followed in 1987 by van Wonterghem, leaving The Klinik as the "classic" duo of Dirk Ivens and Marc Verhaeghen.

The Klinik soon made a name for themselves with their cold and harsh EBM sound and their live shows, where both Ivens and Verhaeghen performed with their heads wrapped in gauze, wearing long black leather coats. Ivens' hissing vocals and minimalist lyrics were complemented by Verhaeghen's synthesizer skills and distorted trombone playing. This however, did not last forever; after Time, an album neither member was fully pleased with, musical differences became too great, and they decided to go their separate ways. In a 2013 interview, Ivens said the due were moving in different directions musically, and that compromise between only two members was challenging.

Plague (disease)

Plague is an infectious disease that is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis. Depending on lung infection, or sanitary conditions, plague can be spread in the air, by direct contact, or very rarely by contaminated undercooked food. The symptoms of plague depend on the concentrated areas of infection in each person: bubonic plague in lymph nodes, septicemic plague in blood vessels, pneumonic plague in lungs. It is treatable if detected early. Plague is still relatively common in some remote parts of the world.

Until June 2007, plague was one of the three epidemic diseases specifically reportable to the World Health Organization (cholera and yellow fever the other two). The bacteria is named after the French-Swiss bacteriologist Alexandre Yersin.

Name

The epidemiological use of the term plague is currently applied to any severe bubo inflammation resulting from an infection with Y. pestis. Historically, the medical use of the term plague has been applied to pandemic infections in general. Plague is often synonymous with bubonic plague, but this describes just one of its manifestations. Other names have been used to describe this disease, such as Black Plague and the Black Death; the latter is now used primarily by scholars to describe the second, and most devastating, pandemic of the disease.

Brotha Lynch Hung

Kevin Danell Mann (born January 10, 1969), better known by his stage name Brotha Lynch Hung, is an American rapper and record producer from Sacramento, California. Since the release of his debut EP 24 Deep in 1993, Brotha Lynch Hung has sold 2.7 million CDs independently, and has been described as an innovator of horrorcore and one of the forefathers of the genre.

Early life

Mann grew up listening to rappers such as Rakim and Slick Rick on Hot 97. He started rapping at the age of 13. A member/affiliate of the 24th St. Garden Blocc Crips during his youth, though it is locally disputed about his true affiliation with the gang because of his affiliation with another south Sacramento street gang, Elder Creek Mob aka Double E Mobb, because of his song with Sicx "Creek Mobb's Loadin' Em Up," though Lynch mentions this in his song "24 Deep" with lyrics that say at about 0:58 of the song, "...I'm all up in this shit and ain't even claiming, trying to survive in the hood is hard enough cause them niggas already think I'm claiming Creek Mobb, tripping off getting snuffed in the View, smoked in the Gardens, staying out the Creek cause it's hot...". Lynch also had a feud with another local south Sacramento rapper Gangsta Dre, a Loma Verde Piru gang member who released a dis record about Lynch due to his affiliation with the 24th St. Garden Blocc Crips and Elder Creek Mobb in his song "Funk Central Haterz," with lyrics saying "...Ms. Doc and Sista Lynch cause ya'll both a couple bitches make me wanna holler, hollows ripping through your collar from my fully auto, you bang the Blocc but you used to be from the Creek..." . He was shot in the side when he tried to break up a confrontation between a fellow Crip and a Bloods gang member at a party. Mann still has the bullet inside him to this day and the incident motivated him to leave gang culture behind.

  • List of Pokémon (52–101)

The Pokémon (ポケモン Pokemon) franchise has 721 (as of the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) distinctive fictional species classified as the titular Pokémon. This is a selected listing of 50 of the Pokémon species, originally found in the Red and Green versions, arranged as they are in the main game series' National Pokédex.

    Meowth

Meowth (ニャース Nyāsu, Nyarth), known as the Scratch Cat Pokémon, has a distinctly feline appearance, resembling a small housecat. It has cream-colored fur, which turns brown at its paws and tail tip. Its oval-shaped head features prominent whiskers, black-and-brown ears, and a koban, a gold oval coin (also known as "charm") embedded in its forehead. Meowth are valued for their ability to collect coins using their signature move, "Pay Day", as it is the only Pokémon that learns it. Meowth's coloration, its love of coins, and its charm indicate that Meowth is based on the Japanese Maneki Neko, a cat-shaped figurine that is said to bring good luck and money to its owner. Aspects of Meowth were drawn from a Japanese myth dealing with the true value of money, in which a cat has money on its head but does not realize it.
