Pizza Inn (NASDAQ: RAVE) is an American restaurant chain and international food franchise, specializing in American-style pan pizza and side dishes. The company is based in the Dallas suburb of The Colony, Texas.

Company history

In 1958, two Texas brothers, Joe and R. L. Spillman, opened the first Pizza Inn across from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

In the mid-80's, the restaurant chain had a commercial deal with the Von Erich family, icons in Texas at the time, with Kerry Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich and Mike Von Erich appearing in a series of televised commercials.

On June 3, 2011 Pizza Inn launched a new sister restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas, known as Pie Five Pizza, that specializes in handcrafted pizzas ready in five minutes. .

As of January 2015, the parent company Pizza Inn Holdings was renamed RAVE Restaurant Group.

International operations

Today, Pizza Inn operates 310 franchised stores and five corporate-owned stores in 12 countries, with several new stores scheduled to open in the next year. Pizza Inn is also popular in the Middle East.

Inns are generally establishments or buildings where travelers can seek lodging and, usually, food and drink. They are typically located in the country or along a highway.

History

Inns in Europe were possibly first established when the Romans built their system of Roman roads two millennia ago. Some inns in Europe are several centuries old. In addition to providing for the needs of travelers, inns traditionally acted as community gathering places.

Historically, inns in Europe provided not only food and lodging, but also stabling and fodder for the travelers' horses. Famous London examples of inns include the George and the Tabard. There is however no longer a formal distinction between an inn and other kinds of establishment. Many pubs use the name "inn", either because they are long established and may have been formerly coaching inns, or to summon up a particular kind of image.

The inn such as the one in the bible in Bethlehem, were like a bed and breakfast, whereas there was a community dining room which was also used for town meetings or rented for wedding parties.

Inn District, Switzerland

Inn District (Romansh:  District da l'En ) is an administrative district in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It has an area of 1,196.77 km² (462.08 sq mi) and has a population of 9,426 (as of 31 December 2014).

Mergers and name changes

In 2009 Fuldera, Lü, Müstair, Santa Maria Val Müstair, Tschierv and Valchava merged to form the municipality of Val Müstair. On 1 January 2013 the municipalities of Romosch and Tschlin merged to form the new municipality of Valsot.

Languages

Along with Surselva, the district of Inn is predominately Romansh-speaking, with a large German-speaking minority. Except for the municipality of Samnaun, all of the municipalities of the district has both Romansh and German as their language, although the latter has an unofficial status in most of the municipalities.

According to their mission statement, the brand is known for their gourmet handmade pies, trademark ampersand, inventive flavor combinations, localized store design and dedication to the communities they serve. Founded in July 2012 by Michael Lastoria and Steve Salis, &pizza opened its first store in the H Street Corridor of Washington, D.C. Pizza

Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy. The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world.

In 2009, upon Italy's request, Neapolitan pizza was safeguarded in the European Union as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed dish. The Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (the True Neapolitan Pizza Association) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 with headquarters in Naples. It promotes and protects the "true Neapolitan pizza".

Pizza (Hindi: पिज़्ज़ा) is an Indian Hindi supernatural thriller film directed by Akshay Akkineni. The film stars Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Dipannita Sharma in the lead roles, while Arunoday Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Omkar Das Manikpuri and Sonali Sachdev play supporting roles. The film is a remake of 2012 Tamil film, Pizza, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and was released on 18 July 2014.
