Pizza Hut Israel

Pizza Hut Israel (Hebrew: פיצה האט‎) is the Israeli franchise of Pizza Hut with 56 branches as of September 2014. Pizza Hut Israel is the largest pizza chain in Israel.

History

Pizza Hut Israel opened their first location in 1990, under the master franchisee Clal Chains, a subsidiary of Clal Industries. Initially the chain opened large sit down restaurants in the large Israeli cities. In 2005 Pizza Hut Israel was struggling to compete and attempted to reinvent themselves, when CEO Udi Shamai announced a strategic move in revamping the menu. By the time of this announcement Pizza Hut was down to 25 branches, from 33 branches in 2002. Some of the branches that remained were moved from large sit down locations to smaller delivery focused locations.

In 2008, CEO Udi Shamai and partner Niv Ziberstein acquired the chain from Clal under the name Tabasco Holdings. At the time of the acquisition the chain was down to 20 branches. Tabasco although retaining ownership of some locations, also began franchising other locations in Israel.

Hizb ut-Tahrir

Hizb ut-Tahrir (Arabic: حزب التحرير‎ Ḥizb at-Taḥrīr; Party of Liberation) is a radical, international, pan-Islamic political organisation, which describes its "ideology as Islam", and its aim as the re-establishment of "the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate)" or Islamic state. The new caliphate would be ruled by Islamic Shariah law, unify the Muslim community (Ummah), return the caliphate to its "rightful place as the first state in the world", and carry "the Da'wah [spread] of Islam" to the world.

The organization was founded in 1953 as a Sunni Muslim organization in Jerusalem by Taqiuddin al-Nabhani, an Islamic scholar and appeals court judge (Qadi) from the Palestinian village of Ijzim. Since then Hizb ut-Tahrir has spread to more than 50 countries and by one estimate has about one million members. Hizb ut-Tahrir is very active in Western countries, particularly in the United Kingdom, and is also active in several Arab and Central Asian countries, despite being banned by some governments. Members typically meet in small private study circles but in countries where the group is not illegal (such as Europe), it also organises rallies and conferences and engages with the media.

Hut 33 is a BBC Radio 4 sitcom set at Bletchley Park in 1941. It includes both the writer (James Cary) and producer (Adam Bromley) from Think the Unthinkable and Concrete Cow.

Production

The first six-part series was recorded at the BBC Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House on 24 June, 1 July and 8 July 2007. It was broadcast at 11.30am on Mondays from 25 June–30 July 2007. The second series ran from 21 May–25 June 2008. James Cary began writing Series 3 in February 2009. The third series was recorded on 25 May, 25 Sep and 27 Sep 2009. Series three broadcasts began 14 October 2009.

Pizza

Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy. The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world.

In 2009, upon Italy's request, Neapolitan pizza was safeguarded in the European Union as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed dish. The film stars Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Dipannita Sharma in the lead roles, while Arunoday Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Omkar Das Manikpuri and Sonali Sachdev play supporting roles. The film is a remake of 2012 Tamil film, Pizza, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and was released on 18 July 2014.
