Piranha (1978 film), a 1978 horror film

Piranha is a 1978 American B movie about a swarm of killer piranhas. It was directed and co-edited by Joe Dante and starred Bradford Dillman, Heather Menzies, Kevin McCarthy, Keenan Wynn, Barbara Steele, and Dick Miller. Produced by Roger Corman, Piranha is a parody of the 1975 film Jaws, which had been a major success for distributor Universal Studios and director Steven Spielberg, and inspired a series of similarly themed B movies such as Grizzly, Tintorera, Tentacles, Orca, Monster Shark and Great White.

Piranha II: The Spawning, 1981 sequel to the 1978 film

Lubrication theory

In fluid dynamics, lubrication theory describes the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a geometry in which one dimension is significantly smaller than the others. An example is the flow above air hockey tables, where the thickness of the air layer beneath the puck is much smaller than the dimensions of the puck itself.

Internal flows are those where the fluid is fully bounded. Internal flow lubrication theory has many industrial applications because of its role in the design of fluid bearings. Here a key goal of lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume, and hence the forces on the bearing components. The working fluid in this case is often termed a lubricant.

Free film lubrication theory is concerned with the case in which one of the surfaces containing the fluid is a free surface. In that case the position of the free surface is itself unknown, and one goal of lubrication theory is then to determine this. Surface tension may then be significant, or even dominant. Issues of wetting and dewetting then arise. For very thin films (thickness less than one micrometre), additional intermolecular forces, such as Van der Waals forces or disjoining forces, may become significant.

"Piranha" is The Grace's 5th Japanese single under the Rhythm Zone label and was released in both CD and CD+DVD (Limited Edition) versions. "Piranha" was released almost a year after the last single "Juicy Love". In this single, "My Everything", translated version from 3rd Korean single 열정 (My Everything), Just for One Day, translated version from 1st Korean album Hanbeon Deo, OK?, and a remix of the single "The Club" is all included in this maxi single. It ranked #50 on the Oricon charts and charted for two weeks, selling 2,920 copies in Japan.

Synopsis

Art Greene (Tom Simcox) and his sister Terry (Ahna Capri) are a couple of wildlife photographers exploring the Amazon region with their American guide Jim Pendrake (Peter Brown). They stumble across a deadly predator when they meet Caribe (William Smith), a homicidal maniac whose hobbies include tracking and hunting human prey.
