Jump! (TV series)

Jump! (跳浪) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which aired on MediaCorp Channel U in May 2012. It was aired on weekdays in the 10pm time slot. The series features Taiwan-based Singaporean singer Wong Jing Lun in his acting debut.

Plot

Xiao Chunli is a Chinese teacher at Blue Sky Secondary School, neighbourhood school notorious for its rock-bottom results and delinquency. Her efforts to help her students are hampered by Mr Yan, the school principal who cares more about KPIs than the students themselves. One of the teachers Xu Dele is a master with the skipping rope and he begins recruiting students to participate in a double dutch competition. Much to Miss Xiao and Mr Xu's frustration, several of the more problematic students or those rejected by other CCAs are "dumped" into the team.

Mr Xu and his students embark on a quest to win a medal at the competition. The students learn some valuable lessons about life and teamwork along the way.

Jump! (film)

Jump! is a 2008 British-Austrian drama film written and directed by Joshua Sinclair. It starred Ben Silverstone, Patrick Swayze and Martine McCutcheon. It was loosely based on the real-life Halsman murder case. The film was premiered on the 2009 Jewish Film Festival in June 2009. Swayze was unable to attend due to pancreatic cancer.

Synopsis

Set in Austria, in 1928, with the spectre of Nazism on the rise, a young Jew, Philippe Halsman, is accused of patricide after his father's death during a hike through the Alps. His strained relationship with his father, and the apparent evidence that he has been struck on the head with a rock, point towards the son's guilt. Halsman is put on trial, in Innsbruck, where his case is taken up by one of the country's leading lawyers.

Plot

The plot revolves around Greta Feeney (Burley), who intends to commit suicide on New Year's Eve, and the interplay of her friends, and her gangster father. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by Greta.

Season 1 (2007)

Due to the 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike, this season consisted of only nine episodes. The episodes aired a day earlier in Canada on CTV before their air dates in the United States.

Season 2 (2008–09)

Pushing Daisies was renewed for a second season in February 2008 by ABC for the 2008–09 television season. On November 20, 2008, after six episodes were broadcast, ABC canceled the show. A total of thirteen episodes were produced for the season, with four of them broadcast in November and December, and the last three broadcast in the U.S. on Saturdays starting May 30 and ending on June 13, 2009, to promote the release of the Season 2 DVD. Several of the first 10 episodes aired a day earlier in Canada on A before their air dates in the United States. The final three episodes were first broadcast in the UK in April 2009 prior to airing in the U.S.

Pigeon (Pushing Daisies)

"Pigeon" is the fourth episode of the first season of the American television comedy-drama Pushing Daisies. The episode—which features a duet version of the They Might Be Giants song "Birdhouse in Your Soul"—earned Jim Dooley a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. It attracted about 9.7 million viewers for its broadcast premiere in the United States.

Plot

A plane crash into an apartment building leaves Emerson, Ned and Chuck investigating whether the pilot committed suicide. Chuck finds herself drawn to the man who appears to be the sole survivor (guest star Dash Mihok). Olive takes a wounded pigeon to Chuck's aunts for help.

U.S. ratings

This episode aired the day after the ABC television network announced an order for a full 22-episode first season of the series. The full order was not a surprise, since the show had easily won its Wednesday lead-off time slot among adults 18-49 during each of the three previous airings, though that success was against the backdrop of an overall bad start for the new fall TV broadcasting season.
