Kerpen wrote a book Democracy Denied: How Obama is Ignoring You and Bypassing Congress to Radically Transform America – and How to Stop Him. In it, he contends that President Barack Obama was ignoring the results of the 2010 election and the people's desire for "smaller, less intrusive government." and that "President Obama and his administration are bypassing Congress, ignoring the democratic process, and disregarding the restraints on federal power our forefathers put in place."
