Peter Mathews (born 12 June 1951 in Canberra) is an Australian archaeologist, epigrapher, and Mayanist. He was a professor at the University of Calgary, and is Co Director of the Naachtun Archaeology Project. He was a professor of Archaeology and Maya Hieroglyphs at La Trobe University until his retirement at the end of 2011. He continued to lecture at the university throughout 2012, until his end of tenure in 2013.
He graduated from University of Calgary where he studied with David H. Kelley, and Yale University with a MPhil, and PhD, where he studied with Michael D. Coe.
In the 1960s, he dubbed artifacts to be from an unknown "Site Q", which some think is La Corona. In 1973, he was invited to the first Mesa Redonda, Palenque conference.
In 1997, he and ten Mexican colleagues were attacked, held, and released, near the Maya site of El Cayo.

Albie (no real name given, named for the town Al Basrah) was a Middle East black market arms dealer who became a believer and a member of the Tribulation Force. He helped Rayford rescue Hattie Durham from a detention center in Colorado in "The Mark", using the name Marcus Elbaz. He was killed trying to purchase help from another black market dealer named Mainyu Mazda. He later returned with the resurrected martyrs at the second coming of Jesus.
Before the Rapture, Bruce is the assistant pastor at New Hope Village Church, serving with the then-senior pastor Vernon Billings. He has doubted the Bible for most of his life; though he has professed faith in Jesus Christ, he has never truly believed in his heart. When the Rapture takes place and his wife and three children are taken to Heaven, Bruce almost falls into depression and total disbelief. Despite his losses, however, he is determined to start anew. He goes to New Hope Village Church that night and meets a few other members who were also left behind. He finds a video of the pastor explaining the Rapture, from which he learns that it is not too late to be saved, and he commits his life to God.

Peter Donald Mathews (Born July 26, 1944) is a Canadian-born composer, pianist, conductor, and educator. Dr. Mathews has composed over 200 pieces, including choral anthems, art songs, and chamber music. He has lived in the United States since 1969.
While in Canada, Mathews studied piano with Edward Parker. He also studied with Morris Taylor, a student of Dame Myra Hess, in England in 1963-64. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music and History from Andrews Universityin 1966. He holds a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting, both from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While at UMKC, he studied with Eph Ehly. He also received a Licentiate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Mathews served as the Composer-in-Residence at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City from 1977-1982. Dr. Mathews served as the conductor of The Orlando Singers (formerly the Florida Hospital Chorus) from 1984-1997. In 1993 he founded Orlando XIII, a semi-professional choral ensemble and served as its Artistic Director.
