Pepe the Frog

Pepe the Frog is an Internet meme originating from a comic drawing. Its popularity steadily grew across Myspace, Gaia Online and 4chan in 2008; becoming one of the most popular memes used on Tumblr in 2015. Pepe is often portrayed as a green anthropomorphic frog, having a frog-like face and a humanoid body. The meme's original use has evolved over time and has many variants, which include Sad frog, Smug frog, Feels frog, and "You will never..." frog.

History

"My Pepe philosophy is simple: 'Feels good man.' It is based on the meaning of the word Pepe: 'To go Pepe.' I find complete joy in physically, emotionally, and spiritually serving Pepe and his friends through comics. Each comic is sacred, and the compassion of my readers transcends any differences, the pain, and fear of 'feeling good.'"

Pepe the Frog was created by American artist Matt Furie. He posted his comic, Boy's Club #1, in a series of blog post on MySpace in 2005 where Pepe first appeared. In the comic, Pepe was found urinating with his pants pulled down to his ankles and the catchphrase, "Feels good man" was his rationale. He took those posts down when the printed edition was published in 2006.

Pepe Soares

José Manuel Soares (30 January 1908 – 24 October 1931), known as Pepe, was a Portuguese footballer. He was born in Lisbon. During his brief career, he was a forward for CF Belenenses and was considered by many to be Portugal's best player.

On 16 March 1927, at age 19, he played his first game, in Lisbon, for Portugal, which won in a 4–0 victory over France, in a friendly match. Pepe scored two goals. He played 14 games for the National Team, scoring 7 goals. He was a player for Portugal during the Olympic Games football tournament in Amsterdam in 1928, the first time Portugal participated in an international competition. Portugal, after winning against Chile (4-2) and Yugoslavia (2-1), was beaten by Egypt (1-2) at the quarter-finals. Egypt later lost to Argentina in the semi-finals (6-0) an to Italy in the match for the bronze medal (11-3). Pepe's last game for Portugal was in Porto on 23 February 1930, a 2–0 win over France.

In 1931, Pepe died of food poisoning at age 23 in Lisbon. The aged Salésias Stadium in Lisbon was named in his honor and there is a statue of him at the entrance of CF Belenenses' Restelo stadium in Lisbon. It is a tradition that whenever FC Porto visits CF Belenenses for a match, the team always leaves a wreath in front of the statue before the game begins.

    Career

Yuri was not an original member of Cool, but was brought in to replace Yoo Chae-yeong for the group's second album. The band's lineup stayed the same from the second album onwards. In 2004, though, Cool was reportedly in danger of breaking up due to tensions within the band. The group eventually broke up after the release of their tenth album in 2005.

A year after the breakup, Yuri announced that she would be joining with close friend Chae Ri-na to become a musical duo, named Girl Friends. Becoming friends in the 1990s while performing with their respective groups, the two had been discussing a possible joint project for 10 years. Girl Friends released their first album, Another Myself, in 2006, with the lead single "Maybe I Love You". Their second album, Addict 2 Times, was released in late 2007.

    Yuri (genre)

Yuri (百合, "lily"), also known by the wasei-eigo construction Girls' Love (ガールズラブ gāruzu rabu), is a Japanese jargon term for content and a genre involving love between women in manga, anime, and related Japanese media.Yuri focuses on the sexual orientation or the romantic orientation aspects of the relationship, or both, the latter of which sometimes being called shōjo-ai by Western fandom.

The themes yuri deals with have their roots in the Japanese lesbian fiction of the early twentieth century, with pieces such as Yaneura no Nishojo by Nobuko Yoshiya. Nevertheless, it is not until the 1970s that lesbian-themed works began to appear in manga, by the hand of artists such as Ryoko Yamagishi and Riyoko Ikeda. The 1990s brought new trends in manga and anime, as well as in dōjinshi productions, along with more acceptance for this kind of content. In 2003, the first manga magazine specifically dedicated to yuri, Yuri Shimai, was launched, and this was followed by its revival Comic Yuri Hime, which was launched after the former was discontinued in 2004.

If you had it all, if you had nothing at all
What would you do, not to see your tears fall
Sleeping so still, with a little time to kill
Drink down this thought , swallow this pill
And the world would not move, to let me cry and sooth
The ink would never dry on page, tears fall on words I say about you
About you, about you, about you
Days are just lonely, days are just only
Used up like school books, forgotten like fools, fools
It's a distant constellation dying, In the corner of the sky
I'm not looking for a miracle, just an explanation why about you
About you, about you, about you oh
About you, about you, about you, about you
