  • Pepe the Frog

Pepe the Frog is an Internet meme originating from a comic drawing. Its popularity steadily grew across Myspace, Gaia Online and 4chan in 2008; becoming one of the most popular memes used on Tumblr in 2015. Pepe is often portrayed as a green anthropomorphic frog, having a frog-like face and a humanoid body. The meme's original use has evolved over time and has many variants, which include Sad frog, Smug frog, Feels frog, and "You will never..." frog.

    History

"My Pepe philosophy is simple: 'Feels good man.' It is based on the meaning of the word Pepe: 'To go Pepe.' I find complete joy in physically, emotionally, and spiritually serving Pepe and his friends through comics. Each comic is sacred, and the compassion of my readers transcends any differences, the pain, and fear of 'feeling good.'"

Pepe the Frog was created by American artist Matt Furie. He posted his comic, Boy's Club #1, in a series of blog post on MySpace in 2005 where Pepe first appeared. In the comic, Pepe was found urinating with his pants pulled down to his ankles and the catchphrase, "Feels good man" was his rationale. He took those posts down when the printed edition was published in 2006.

    Pepe (film)

Pepe is a 1960 film starring Mario Moreno ("Cantinflas") in the title role, directed by George Sidney. A multitude of cameo appearances attempted to replicate the success of Mario Moreno's American debut, notably Around the World in Eighty Days, produced by Mike Todd in 1956.

The film failed to achieve the success of Cantinflas' previous American film and was roundly criticized by film critics. A VHS tape of the film was released on December 7, 1998; in 2015, it began streaming on Netflix.

    Plot

Mario Moreno ("Cantinflas") is Pepe, a hired hand, employed on a ranch. A boozing Hollywood director, Mr. Holt, buys a white stallion that belongs to Pepe's boss. Pepe, determined to get the horse back (as he considers it his family), decides to take off to Hollywood. There he meets film stars including Jimmy Durante, Frank Sinatra, Zsa Zsa Gabór, Bing Crosby, Maurice Chevalier and Jack Lemmon in drag as Daphne from Some Like It Hot. He is also surprised by things that were new in America at the time, such as automatic swinging doors. When he finally reaches the man who bought the horse, he is led to believe there is no hope of getting it back. However Mr. Holt offers him a job when he realizes that Pepe brings new life to the stallion. Now his luck is changing and in Las Vegas Pepe wins big money, enough that Mr. Hold lets him be the producer of his next movie. Most of the movie centers around his meeting Shirley Jones who plays an actress on hard times and hating the world. Just like with the stallion, Pepe brings out the best in Shirley Jones and helps her become a big star in a movie made by Mr. Holt. Shirley Jones does a great job both as a dancer and singing the lead song called "Pepe." For those who love movies that are set in Acapulco, Mexico, this one has great appeal and beautiful scenery. The last scene shows both him and the stallion back at the ranch with several foals.

    People!

People! was a one-hit wonder rock band that was formed in San Jose, California in 1965. Their greatest chart success came with their summer hit single "I Love You". The song, written by The Zombies bass guitarist Chris White, rose to number one in Japan (twice), Israel, Australia, Italy, South Africa, and the Philippines, and peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1968. At various times, band members have included Robb Levin, Geoff Levin, Albert Ribisi, John Riolo, David Anderson, Larry Norman, Gene Mason, Denny Fridkin, Tom Tucker, Bruce Thomas Eason (as Scott Eason), John Tristao, Steve Boatwright, and Rob Thomas. On October 19, 2007, People! was inducted into the San Jose Rocks Hall of Fame.

    Scientology connection

After all of the band members except lead singers Norman and Mason embraced Scientology, Norman claimed other members of the band issued the ultimatum: Join Scientology or leave the band. Norman and Mason both refused. Some band members indicate that Norman was asked to leave the band because he was seen as a "Suppressive Person". Norman claimed that he was harassed by other members of Scientology.

    People (Australian magazine)

People is a fortnightly Australian lad's mag published by Bauer Media Group. It has been published since 1950. It is not to be confused with the gossip magazine known by that name in the United States; that magazine is published under the name Who in Australia.

People focuses on celebrity interviews and scandal, glamour photography, sex stories sent in by readers, puzzles, crosswords, and a jokes page.

People was reportedly the first weekly magazine in Australia to feature topless models.

    History

People was first published in 1950; it covered "everything from news, to scandals, to true crime stories."

Pix, a weekly men's magazine, merged with People in 1972.

People magazine started a "Covergirl of the Year" quest in the early 80s with Samantha Fox an early winner. The 1985 winner was Carolyn Kent. People had a deliberate policy of searching for "average Aussie birds" from 1985 onwards, trying to veer away from a reliance on U.K. Page 3 girl pictorials (though Page 3 girls still appeared, and indeed, Tracey Coleman was named Covergirl of the year in 1992 and 1994). Mostly scouted by and photographed by Walter Glover, many popular "average" girls became very popular and frequent cover girls. These include Lynda Lewis, Lisa Russell, Narelle Nixon, Melinda Smith, Raquel Samuels, Tanja Adams (real name Tanja Adamiak) and Belinda Harrow (who also appeared as the debut cover–centre of Picture magazine in 1988.

    The Sunday People

The Sunday People is a British tabloid Sunday newspaper, founded as The People on 16 October 1881.

It is published by the Trinity Mirror Group, and shares a website with the Mirror papers. In July 2011 it had an average Sunday circulation of 806,544. By January 2014 the circulation had shrunk to 374,820. Despite its tagline claim to be a "truly independent" newspaper, The People endorsed the Labour Party at the 2015 general election on the recommendation of polling data from its readers.

    Notable columnists

  • Garry Bushell had a two-page television opinion page, "Bushell On the Box", but left in early 2007, later moving to the Daily Star Sunday
  • Jimmy Greaves, the former England footballer
  • Fred Trueman, former England cricketer and fast bowler.

    Pop A Pill

    by: Korn

    Well look at this
    I see clearly now
    Look at this
    I can feel it now
    Happiness
    Is seldom found
    Pop the pill
    I'm so damn happy now
    Feeling things crawl on me
    I need my fix today
    This is way beyond me
I can't live without you today
    Well look at this
    I see colors now
    Look at this
    I'm butt ugly now
    Happiness
    Is seldom found
    Pop the pill
    I'm so damn happy now
    Feeling things crawl on me
    I need my fix today
    This is way beyond me
I can't live without you today
    You today
    You today
I don't care about anything around me
Even all the love that surrounds me
    Make way, hate me
    I don't care about anything
I need just to shutout the voice
    With me(x3)
    I don't care about anything
    Feeling things crawl on me
    I need my fix today
    This is way beyond me
I can't live without you today
