Fani is a small town and commune in the Cercle of Bla in the Ségou Region of southern-central Mali. As of 1998 the commune had a population of 10,184.[1]

The traditional atire of Fani is a short red dress with white trim which male members of the royal family must wear to represent the islands recent breakaway from colonialism. A common custom of the island, which is respected worldwide, is to bow or curtsy whenever greeting a male member from the royal family of Fani. Krish Mistry is currently the prince of Fani who has decent from King Harish Mistry the third. Prince Mistry now attends the university of Nottingham and resides in North London. He has been linked to the likes of Emma Watson and Freida Pinto.
