Dejuan Rice (born January 17, 1970),[citation needed] better known by his stage name Suga Free, is an American rapper from Pomona, California.

Suga Free was born in Oakland and raised in Compton,[1] later becoming based in Pomona, California.

He began his professional rapping career working with DJ Quik, with Quik serving as the producer on his debut album, Street Gospel, released in 1997, which reached number 27 on the Billboard R&B albums chart.[2][3][4]

He made guest appearances on Xzibit's Restless and Snoop Dogg's Tha Last Meal in 2000, and released a second album in 2004, The New Testament, which peaked at number 23 on the R&B albums chart and number 72 on the Billboard 200.[3][4] Just Add Water followed in 2006, described by Allmusic: "Just Add Water may not be the complete handbook to being a pimp, but it certainly is a kind of missive on the life of Suga Free."[5] The album saw Suga described as "charismatic and funny, with a rapid- fire-yet-conversational style" by the Chicago Tribune.[6]

Pay Me!

Pay Me! is a 1917 American silent drama film directed by Joe De Grasse and starring Lon Chaney. The film is also known in the United States as The Vengeance of the West.

Plot

As described in a film magazine, Hal Curtis (Clifford) and Joe Lawson (Chaney), partners in a mine, have a disagreement. Lawson strangles Curtis and accidentally shoots Curtis' wife. He deserts his own wife and child and elopes with Hilda Hendricks (Selbie), a weak girl of the town. As they are leaving they hear a baby's cry and find Curtis' little daughter in the arms of the dead mother. Hilda takes the child. Seventeen years pass. Lawson has changed his name to White and owns a dance hall in the heart of lumber country. The men call him "Killer" White. Marta (Phillips), his partner's child, has grown to womanhood and a lumberjack has fallen in love with her. He is chagrined at finding Marta dressed in a bizarre costume, running the roulette wheel in the Killer's establishment. Curtis wanders into camp and, recognizing Hilda, asks where his daughter is. Hilda points her out to him and he becomes enraged, vowing vengeance on the Killer. He is backed by the young lumberjack, who is none other than the son Lawson had abandoned. A fight follows and just before Lawson can kill Curtis, a shot rings out and Lawson drops. Hilda holds the gun. Before dying, Lawson tells Marta that she is not his daughter, and the two young people leave together.

Styles of Beyond

Styles of Beyond is an underground hip hop group from the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. The group consists of MCs Ryan Patrick Maginn (Ryu) and Takbir Bashir (Tak), Colton Raisin Fisher (DJ Cheapshot), and producer Jason Rabinowitz (Vin Skully). They have released two LPs, one mixtape and were heavily featured on Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor project in 2005. At one point they were also signed to Shinoda's Machine Shop Recordings label, although they left the label in late 2008. They are also heavily associated with the underground rap group Demigodz which features similar underground artists such as Apathy, Celph Titled, and 7L & Esoteric.

History

Early years (1994-2004)

After making some pre-Ryu demos on a 4-track cassette recorder, Styles of Beyond started making appearances on the Wake Up Show which was a breeding ground for respected rhymers and supreme lyricists, including Eminem, Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. In the late 1990s, the group met longtime collaborator and friend Mike Shinoda, who would later become the co-creator and co-vocalist of Linkin Park. The group eventually released two independent studio albums, 2000 Fold (1998), and Megadef (2003).
