Pawan Kumar (footballer)

Pawan Kumar (born 1 July 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bengaluru FC in the I-League.

Career

Youth and Early Career

Born in Gurdaspur, Punjab, Kumar has played with several I-League clubs like JCT, Air India, and Salgaocar. While with JCT, Kumar led the side to the 2010 Durand Cup final where his side lost 1–0 to Chirag United at the Ambedkar Stadium. Also while with the club, Kumar was one of five players sent to England to train with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy for a week as part of a partnership Wolves had with JCT. Then, for the 2011–2012 season, after JCT disbanded, Kumar played with Air India, another I-League, side for the season.

Then, for the 2012–13 season, Kumar played with Salgaocar where he found himself as the #2 behind Karanjit Singh. Kumar only played in one match while with the club against Sporting Goa on 20 March 2013 in which he came on as a 63rd-minute substitute after Karanjit Singh was red carded; Salgaocar lost the match 1–3.

Pawan Kumar (Kannada: ಪವನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, born 29 October 1982) is a film Director, actor and screenwriter in the Kannada film industry. He is well known for the films Manasaare, Pancharangi, his directorial debut Lifeu Ishtene and the 2013 psychological thriller Lucia became one of the biggest turning points of his career. Being from a theatre background, he wrote scripts for plays on stage before working as an associate director with Yograj Bhat.

Pawan Kumar (wrestler)

Pawan Kumar (born 16 October 1993) is an Indian wrestler. He represented India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the 86 kg weight class in which he won the bronze medal. He also represented India at the 2014 Asian Games in the 86 kg weight class. Pawan is currently supported by JSW Sport under the Sports Excellence Programme.

Career

2014 Commonwealth Games

The young wrestler began his maiden CWG campaign in Glasgow, Scotland with a Round of 16 matchup against Steve Hill of New Zealand, winning the match 4-0. Pawan met Luigi Bianco of Scotland in the quarter-finals and beat him 5-0. In the semi-finals, Pawan unfortunately lost out to Tamerlan Tagziev of Canada with the burly Canadian beating him 5-0. There was still a chance of a medal with Pawan competing in the bronze medal match. He faced Muhammad Inam of Pakistan and ended the tightly contested match 6-6. But he was awarded the bronze medal in the particular category since he was the last one to score a point.

Pawan Kumar (born 12 May 1995) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a Centre Back for Salgaocar in the I-League.

Career

A product of JCT, Kumar made his professional debut for Salgaocar on 28 December 2014 against Bengaluru FC in the Federation Cup. He started the match as Salgaocar lost 2–3. He also started in his second match in federation cup which they won 2-1 against shillong lajong.

International

Kumar has represented the India U19 side.
