Paul Raymond (musician)

Paul Martin Raymond (16 November 1945, St Albans, Hertfordshire, England) is an English keyboardist/guitarist.

Life and career

Raymond began his musical career as a keyboardist/vocalist for the band, Plastic Penny, in 1967. He left after the band split up in 1968. He replaced Christine Perfect (later to become Christine McVie) in British blues band Chicken Shack when she left to join Fleetwood Mac. Raymond then joined Savoy Brown as their keyboardist/guitarist. He subsequently recorded with the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Danny Kirwan.

He was recruited by UFO in 1976 to replace their first keyboardist, Danny Peyronel. He wrote songs for UFO but because of a previous publishing deal was not credited for these songs until recent years. When Michael Schenker left UFO, he joined Schenker's own band, MSG, in 1981 and later joined UFO bassist Pete Way's own band, Waysted, in 1983. Raymond worked with Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, along with Schenker and Way, in UFO from 1976– 1981, 1984–1986, 1993–1998 and 2003–present date.

Paul Marcel Raymond (February 27, 1913 – April 4, 1995) was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 65 games in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens. He was born in Montreal, Quebec.

Paul Raymond, born Paul-Raymond Lechien, was a French archivist and historian born on 8 September 1833 in Belleville (Seine) (now part of Paris ) and died on 27 September 1878.

His Life

Admitted in 1854 to the École Nationale des Chartes, there he obtained a degree of "Archivist paléographe" in 1857 with a thesis entitled On the looting of the house and property of the bishop (5th-13th centuries). He then became the departmental archivist for Basses-Pyrenees after finishing at the École Nationale des Chartes until 1877. He was then appointed Secretary General of the Prefecture of the Lower Pyrenees. He was also Secretary General of the "Society of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Pau" from 1871 to 1877 and president of this society in 1877.

He was a convinced republican "paying relentless personal attention to all works for the public good and popular education. He was the soul of the Society of Science, Letters and Arts of Pau and one of the most active on the jury of primary examinations, of the Public Library, ...".
