Paul Moss

Paul Raymond Moss is the general manager of Media Prima network's media portal and a judge in 8TV's One in a Million singing contest.

Moss was the AS A&R director of record company Positive Tone from its inception in 1994 until last year. Moss oversaw the transformation in Malaysian music that created whole new markets for English-language artistes and new genres of music.

Background

Before settling in Malaysia, Moss, sometimes fondly addressed as Uncle Paul, was the song writer, guitarist and musical director for international pop band Aishah and The Fan Club.

The band originated in New Zealand and had five members: Paul Moss himself on guitars, Malcolm Smith on keyboards, Glenn Peters on Bass, Dave Larsen on drums and Aishah as their lead vocalist.

Aishah and The Fan Club were a big hit in 1990 when they released the album Sensation which had three #1 singles in New Zealand and Malaysian charts. The hits were "Sensation", "Paradise" and "Call Me".

Their next album, titled "Respect The Beat", also produced three hit singles such as "I Feel Love", "Never Gave Up On You" and the only single to actually debut in the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, "Don't Let Me Fall Alone". The remixes for the song were also released and were frequently played dance tunes during that time.

Paul Moss (American football)

Paul Moss (October 2, 1908 – May 25, 1999) was a professional American football player who played wide receiver for two seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Gunners.

An outstanding athlete, he excelled in multiple sports at Terre Haute's Gerstmeyer Tech High School, before becoming a multi-sport athlete for the Purdue Boilermakers. While at Purdue, Moss was twice named All-American (1931, 1932), he was a 2x All-B10 End & a 3-time (1930–32) letterman. He appeared in the 1933 East-West Shrine Game before being drafted by the Pirates of the NFL. He also played baseball for two seasons (1931, 1932).

He appeared in 10 games as a rookie and led the NFL in Receiving Yards (283 yds), he had 13 catches for a 28.3 yd/catch average and scored twice. He spent the 1934 season with the St. Louis Gunners.

After his professional football career ended, he played at least one year (1935) in the Three-I League for his hometown Terre Haute Tots.

He entered the high school coaching ranks in Ohio and Minnesota, achieving a record of 56-19-1 (.743); his 1934 Maplewood (OH) High team won the County title behind future NFL star Paul Christman. He won a conference title at Painesville's (OH) Harvey High

Moss

Mosses are small flowerless plants that typically grow in dense green clumps or mats, often in damp or shady locations. The individual plants are usually composed of simple, one-cell thick leaves, attached to a stem that may be branched or unbranched and has only a limited role in conducting water and nutrients. Although some species have vascular tissue this is generally poorly developed and structurally different from similar tissue found in other plants. They do not have seeds and after fertilisation develop sporophytes (unbranched stalks topped with single capsules containing spores). They are typically 0.2–10 cm (0.1–3.9 in) tall, though some species are much larger, like Dawsonia, the tallest moss in the world, which can grow to 50 cm (20 in) in height.

Mosses are commonly confused with lichens, hornworts, and liverworts. Lichens may superficially look like mosses, and have common names that include the word "moss" (e.g., "reindeer moss" or "iceland moss"), but are not related to mosses. Mosses, hornworts, and liverworts are collectively called "bryophytes". Bryophytes share the property of having the haploid gametophyte generation as the dominant phase of the life cycle. This contrasts with the pattern in all "vascular" plants (seed plants and pteridophytes), where the diploid sporophyte generation is dominant.

Mossø

Mossø is Denmark's third largest freshwater lake and Jutland's largest, as measured by surface area. The lake is located just east of the city of Skanderborg in east Jutland, but is part of both Skanderborg Municipality and Horsens Municipality. Mossø lies in the middle of the area and landscape known as Søhøjlandet (English: The Lake-highland).

There is a small lake named Mossø in the forest of Rold Skov in Himmerland.

Nature

Both ospreys and white-tailed eagle is regularly observed at Mossø and the later have recently established here as a breeding bird, which is rare in Denmark.

Mossø is part of the 4,470 ha Natura 2000 protection area, designated as number 52. The lake is also designated as an international bird protection area, with number F35.
