Patharpratima (community development block)

Patharpratima (community development block) (Bengali: পাথরপ্রতিমা সমষ্টি উন্নয়ন ব্লক) is an administrative division in Kakdwip subdivision of South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Patharpratima police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is at Ramganga.

1977-2006

In the 2006and 2001state assembly elections, Jajneswar Das of CPI(M) won the Pathapratima assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Samir Kumar Jana of Trinamool Congress. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Gopal Krishna Dey of Congress won the seat in 1996defeating Janmejay Manna of CPI(M). In 1991 Janmejay Manna of CPI(M) defeated Banabehari Patra of Congress. Gunadhar Maity of CPI(M) won the seat in 1987, 1982 and 1977 defeating Ananta Kumar Bera of Congress.
