Patigi is an ancient town in Kwara State, Nigeria. It is inhabited by the Nupe people who also exhibit a linguistic reportoire of the Yoruba dialect. They are farmers, acquatic sellers/fishers and traders.
-The Nupe people of patigi kingdom are very compassionate and welcoming to visitors, though they are masterminds in whitchcraft, especially as a sign of strength to their own kins; they are also good farmers- harvesting cassava, millet, rice, guineacorn, melon etc. They also make a lot of local snacks such as "efan", "gbankuru", "liala", "kuli", "dankuwa" "banbara", "alewa" etc. The people of Patigi also engage in fishing. They are also very industrious.
The name “patigi” was derived from the Nupe word “Pati” meaning “hill”, it is surrounded by water from the North and South. This kingdom is one of the ancient kingdom of the Nupe people; one of the first kings of Patigi lost one of his daughter to the White men who visited the kingdom in the early 20th century, and the other daughter - Amina Dufya has been the "Sagi" of Patigi for two decades.
I've said and once too often, some things I'd never say again. in streams of thoughts unbroken I fish for a few good men
Sundays and holidays and twelve hours straight no pay for bloody hands and believe me they pay a petty wage
my poor self pity speaks with sobbing, mumbled words strewn with the awful taste of bad, cowardly prose
I'd take some time to get my posture set straight if I had the chance I'd break and subdue the scheming hands of fate.
Wrap up your limp red mass of knuckles and fingertips it's fighting time and time to battle with your wits, time to spit back when you're spit upon, when you're left for head. time to hit the road when the road you're on had run out of tricks
