As work on the album began in February 1968, Mike Love, who had learned Transcendental Meditation (TM) in December 1967,[1] departed on a two week trip to India (alongside The Beatles and Donovan) to study TM further with his new master, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. In his absence, the remaining Beach Boys – Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, and (now an official member) Bruce Johnston – recorded the bulk of Friends along with selected members of The Wrecking Crew.
Friends was the first Beach Boys album to feature significant songwriting contributions from Dennis Wilson, "Little Bird" and "Be Still"; the former's bridge incorporated elements of "Child Is the Father of the Man", a then-unreleased song from the aborted Smile. Although production was credited to the group as a whole, this was the band's last album until 1976's 15 Big Ones to feature Brian Wilson as a dominant creative force, writing or co-writing every song with the exception of "Be Still"--he went uncredited on "Little Bird" so that Dennis Wilson and Steve Kalinich could collect more royalties--and actively participating in recording sessions.
In mid-March, Mike Love returned from his TM retreat and contributed to the subsequent vocal sessions, with leads on the brief "Meant for You", which opens the album, and "Anna Lee, the Healer". Almost immediately, the Beach Boys embarked on two US tours, one with the Strawberry Alarm Clock (resulting in the California Girls reprise at the end of the song "Small Package"), and another with, most controversially, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi himself (as a lecturer). Both were commercial failures, and were swiftly canceled (after they famously drew only 200 people in New York City).[citation needed]
The first Beach Boys album to be released only in stereo (and their first release in true stereo since 1964's The Beach Boys' Christmas Album), Friends was issued in June. It reached only #126 on American charts, as an indication of the band's depleted commercial fortunes at the time, but its later UK release was more popular, reaching #13.

"Passing By" (Hangul: 스쳐간다; RR: Seuchyeoganda) is a digital single by South Korean singer-songwriter Roy Kim, released and distributed on November 27, 2012 through CJ E&M Music. It was the winning song of Mnet's talent competition series Superstar K4.
Four days after winning Superstar K4, Kim's digital single "Passing By" was released. In its first week of release, the song charted in the top 10 of several music portals and charts in South Korea. It peaked at number six on the Gaon Digital Chart, and number nine on the now-defunct Billboard K-Pop Hot 100. As of February 9, 2013, "Passing By" has sold about 643,000 digital copies in Kim's native country.
As "Passing By" was only released for Superstar K4, it was not heavily promoted. Aside from a performance on Superstar K4, Kim also performed the song at Mnet Asian Music Awards on November 30, 2012 followed by Mnet's M! Countdown on December 13.
Jumbo (ca. Christmas 1860 – September 15, 1885) was the first international animal superstar, and the first African elephant to reach modern Europe alive. He was born in East Africa, and captured there by Arabian hunters in early 1862. He was sold first to an Italian animal dealer, then to a menagerie in Germany, and then to the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Officials of the Jardin traded him to the London Zoological Gardens for a rhinoceros. Jumbo lived in the London Zoo for about 16 years, where he delighted visitors by taking them on trips around the zoo grounds in the howdah on his back.
Jumbo was the biggest elephant in captivity. Due to this, American showman P. T. Barnum wanted Jumbo in his circus, eventually buying the elephant in 1882 for $10,000. Jumbo's sale initiated public outrage in Britain, and drew notice around the world. The British objected to the sale, and wrote letters to Queen Victoria urging that Jumbo remain in London. The courts ruled in Barnum's favor however, and the elephant was shipped to the United States. "Jumbomania", a fad for all things Jumbo, was born at this time. The civilized world was flooded with Jumbo neckties, jewelry, soaps, and other ornaments and souvenirs.
Jumbo is a 2008 Bollywood animation film directed by Kompin Kemgumnird, produced by Percept Picture Company and features the voices of Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Dimple Kapadia, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Gulshan Grover, and Yuvraj Singh. It has Yashveer Bains as lead role of Jumbo. The film is an official remake/redubbing of the 2006 Thai film Khan Kluay. The film was dubbed and released in Hindi and the creative direction on the Hindi film was by Mayur Puri. Jumbo released worldwide on Christmas Day 2008, but was met with mixed critical reviews and turned out to be one of the biggest box office disasters of the year. In 2011 A direct to DVD sequel titled Jumbo 2: The Return of the Big Elephant was released.
Kumar was reportedly paid nine crores for the dubbing and two promotional songs.
The movie starts with Akshay Kumar singing the song "Everything's Gonna Be All Right" for the children in the school. He then begins talking to one child who seems to be depressed. He then narrates the story of Jumbo to this child.
Jumbo is the name of an Avanzada Regia Alternative rock band from Monterrey, Mexico.
They were founded in May 1997 with the following lineup:
In the early 90's, before the creation of Jumbo, Castillo, Charly, Eddie, Chuy Guerra, Javier Othón and René Garza formed a band called "Blueswagen" which played mainly covers of bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., U2, The Police, Lenny Kravitz, Stone Temple Pilots and Red Hot Chili Peppers. They started gaining more fans and an increasing popularity, which led to playing bars and clubs and recording many demos. BMG obtained one of the demos and started looking for them. Later the band signed with them.
Fly to the moon
See the stars passing by
I feel someone`s near
Even though I know
There`s nobody here...
Passing by the sea -
Passing be the sea of light
Like a stream
Like a breeze
There`s your voice inside my head
And in between
The pressure increases -
I know, I`ll never get back
I sit on the moon
Good and bad disappears
I feel the relief
When I see my homeland
Shining from here...
Passing by the sea -
Passing be the sea of light
Like a stream
Like a breeze
There`s your voice inside my head
And in between
The pressure increases -
I know, I`ll never get back ..
