Critical reception

Alex Macpherson of The Guardian praised the song for being an exception to the skeletal beats of the duo's First Album, describing it as "enveloped in nostalgia for halcyon nights and propelled by driving bass."

They said "it’s one of the best, simply because we love the message." Allmusic compared the song to Rihanna's work with Loud. They said it "is the kind of crowd-pleasing, punchy and club-friendly".

Chart performance

Currently, the song debuted at number sixty on the Swedish singles chart on the issue date of 15 July 2011. After one week on the charts, it rose to number thirty-two. Its currently stayed in the charts for nine weeks. The song was mildly successful in the United States reaching a peak of 71 on the U.S iTunes Dance Charts.

"In My Head" is a song by American R&B recording artist Jason Derulo, released as the second single from his self-titled debut studio album. It was first released via digital download on December 10, 2009. It topped the charts in Australia, Poland and the United Kingdom, and peaked within the top ten of the charts in several other countries. The song's official remix has a heavier R&B sound, and features Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj. Derulo performed the song on the ninth season of American Idol.

Background

Jason has stated that "In My Head" was chosen to be released as the second single from the album to show the other side of his debut album. The song is electro-influenced, and has a heavier rock feel than the R&B and electronica-influenced "Whatcha Say", Derulo has stated that the album displays both sides, so "In My Head" was released to introduce his fans to electronic side of the record. The official remix features Nicki Minaj and was released on March 11, 2010. The song was originally titled "In My Bed", but Derulo and Kelly changed this to "In My Head" at the last minute.

"In My Head" is a song performed by Swedish pop singer and music producer Loreen, it was released as the fifth single from her debut studio album Heal (2012). The song was written by Loreen, Moh Denebi, Björn Djupström and produced by Tortuga. It was released as a digital download on February 14, 2013 in Sweden. The track was originally planned to be the single that launched her album Heal last October but "Crying Out Your Name" was eventually chosen.

The release features a single edit, which is just under a minute shorter than the album version. And it also features the Promise Land remix, both in a radio edit and an extended edit. The Promise Land remix gives ‘In My Head’ a slightly more club friendly feel, similarly to what the international version of "Crying Out Your Name" in 2012.

In the review of the album, Scandipop said, (of 'In My Head'); "The frantic piano middle eight is pure beauty". They added 'In My Head' "seems like the no brainer to be the next single after Crying Out Your Name ".
