Parkdale is a central neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada located a short distance north of the downtown core. Located just to the south of the neighbourhood is Commonwealth Stadium and just to the north east is Rexall Place. Parkdale is part of the Norwood area of Edmonton.
Parkdale is an older neighbourhood with roughly four out of ten (40.5%) or residences being constructed by the end of World War II. another third of the residences (32.4%) were constructed between the end of the war and 1960.
Two out of three residences in the neighbourhood (67%) are single family dwellings according to the 2005 municipal census. Another 27% are a mixture of apartment style condominiums and rented apartments. Most of the remainder are duplexes[1] with a few row houses and some social housing units as well. Six out of ten (61.1%) of residences are owner occupied with the remainder being rented.[2]
The neighbourhood population is highly mobile with only 39.2% of residents having lived at the same address for five years or longer. One in five residents (22.4%) have lived at the same address for under one year, and another one in four (25.3%) have lived at the same address for one to three years.[3]
Average household incomes in Parkdale are significantly below the average household income in the City of Edmonton at large.

Residents have good access to the Edmonton LRT system with Coliseum Station located near the north east corner of the neighbourhood and Stadium Station located near the south east corner.
There are two schools in the neighbourhood. Parkdale Elementary Junior High School is operated by the Edmonton Public School System while St. Alphonsus Catholic Elementary Junior High School is operated by the Edmonton Catholic School System.
The neighbourhood is bounded on the south by 112 Avenue, on the north by 118 Avenue, on the west by 89 Street, and on the east by the Canadian National Railway right of way and the city's north east LRT line. Fort Road passes through the neighbourhood.

Edmonton i/ˈɛdməntən/ is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton is on the North Saskatchewan River and is the centre of the Edmonton Capital Region, which is surrounded by Alberta's central region.
The city had a population of 877,926 in the 2014 census, making it Alberta's second-largest city and Canada's fifth-largest municipality. This population represents 66 percent of the total 2014 population of 1,328,300 within the Edmonton census metropolitan area (CMA), Canada's fifth-largest CMA by population. Edmonton is the northernmost North American city with a metropolitan population over one million. A resident of Edmonton is known as an Edmontonian.
Edmonton's historic growth has been facilitated through the absorption of five adjacent urban municipalities (Strathcona, North Edmonton, West Edmonton, Beverly and Jasper Place) and a series of annexations ending in 1982. Edmonton serves as the northern anchor of the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. Known as the "Gateway to the North", the city is a staging point for large-scale oil sands projects occurring in northern Alberta and large-scale diamond mining operations in the Northwest Territories.

Edmonton railway station is on the Canadian National Railway mainline in Edmonton, Alberta. The railway station is located near the Edmonton City Centre Airport, approximately 5.5 kilometres from the city centre. Served by Via Rail's The Canadian three times per week in each direction, the station is unusually located on a branch of the main line, meaning that trains must either reverse into or out. The station opened in 1998 following the closure of the downtown Via Rail station which was located in the lower level of Edmonton's CN Tower.
