Disturbed may refer to:
Disturbed is the second album by Coo Coo Cal, released on September 18, 2001 through Tommy Boy Records. Most of the album was produced by Bigg Hank, though Bink, DJ Cipha Sounds, Rated X and Kay Gee of Naughty by Nature also contributed production to the album.
The album is perhaps best known for its lead single, "My Projects", which became a minor hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 81. It became a bigger hit on the R&B and rap charts, reaching number 22 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and topping the Hot Rap Singles chart at number one.
The album itself found mild success on the Billboard charts, reaching 45 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Independent Albums. It sold an estimated 800,000 copies.
"Disturbed" is the 21st episode of the fifth season of the American television show Numb3rs. In the episode written by series creators/executive producers Cheryl Heuton and Nicolas Falacci, skeptical Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents track an undetected serial killer while their math consultant copes with his brother's recent injury. After FBI Special Agent Don Eppes's (Rob Morrow) injury, FBI Special Agent David Sinclair (Alimi Ballard), who was the newest member of the team at the beginning of the series, served as team leader. Falacci and Heuton also included Easter eggs from the "Pilot" and from some of the previous 99 episodes.
The producers brought back one previous guest star and almost had a special guest star. For the 100th episode, series producers brought back Josh Gad, who amazed producers in a previous episode. Dr. Stephen Hawking, who visited the set during filming, almost became a guest star in the episode.
"Disturbed" first aired in the United States on May 1, 2009. Critics generally liked the episode.
In biology/ecology, parasitism is a non-mutual symbiotic relationship between species, where one species, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host. Traditionally parasite (in biological usage) referred primarily to organisms visible to the naked eye, or macroparasites (such as helminths). Parasite can include microparasites, which are typically smaller, such as protozoa, viruses, and bacteria. Examples of parasites include the plants mistletoe and cuscuta, and animals such as hookworms.
Unlike predators, parasites typically do not kill their host, are generally much smaller than their host, and will often live in or on their host for an extended period. Both are special cases of consumer-resource interactions. Parasites show a high degree of specialization, and reproduce at a faster rate than their hosts. Classic examples of parasitism include interactions between vertebrate hosts and tapeworms, flukes, the Plasmodium species, and fleas. Parasitism differs from the parasitoid relationship in that parasitoids generally kill their hosts.
Parasite is a science fiction novel written by Mira Grant (the pseudonym of American author Seanan McGuire). It was released on October 29, 2013 by Orbit Books and is the first volume of the Parasitology trilogy . The other two books in the series are Symbiont (November 25, 2014) and Chimera (November 24, 2015).
Hotter Than Hell is the second studio album by American rock band Kiss, released on October 22, 1974. It was certified gold on June 23, 1977, having shipped 500,000 copies. The album was re-released in 1997 in a remastered version. It peaked on the charts at #100, without the benefit of a hit single. Many of the album's songs are live staples for the band, including "Got to Choose", "Parasite", "Hotter Than Hell", "Let Me Go, Rock & Roll" and "Watchin' You".
The production team of Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise, who had produced the group's first album, was chosen for the follow-up. Since the pair had relocated to Los Angeles, Kiss moved there to work with them. The band, all hailing from New York, immediately developed a dislike for their new surroundings. Paul Stanley's guitar was stolen on his first day in Los Angeles. The working title for the album was The Harder They Come. Although the album featured three songs penned by lead guitarist Ace Frehley, he did not sing lead vocals on any of them; his lack of confidence in his singing abilities at the time led to lead vocal duties for "Parasite" and "Strange Ways" going to Gene Simmons and Peter Criss, respectively. Frehley's guitar solo on "Strange Ways" has been referred to as one of his best.
You've got nowhere to hide and all bullshit aside
You've committed a terrible crime
You've stepped over the line
And you'd better be running for your life
Fucked over again, I even called you a friend
A mistake I won't be repeating
I just don't understand
How you can even continue to deny
You know why?
(You don't remember why)
Don't you pretend that you don't know why
(You fucking parasite)
Because you're living through
Association that has been getting you high
You sell your soul for just a taste of my life
Now what a surprise, to discover the lies
You'll be telling again in no time
You just don't realize they'll come back
And be fucking up your life
In trouble again, I just don't understand
This whole pattern that keeps repeating
You know, you'll do it again
And admit you can step into the light
You know why?
(You don't remember why)
Don't you pretend that you don't know why
(You fucking parasite)
Because you're living through
Association that has been getting you high
You sell your soul for just a taste of my life
Determination has been running on high
No control, for just a taste of my life
Because your association has been getting you high
You sell your soul for just a taste of my life
Determination has been running on high
No control, for just a taste of my life
For just a taste of my life
You've got nowhere to hide and all bullshit aside
You've committed a terrible crime
You've stepped over the line
