Papillon is a live action comedy series (15 4-minute episodes) about an ultra-discount airline, starring Kevin McDonald of the series The Kids In The Hall. The project was produced in 2011 as part of the first funded web series by the Independent Production Fund. Papillon is about the excruciating realities of modern air travel and features a motley crew led by cowboy pilot (David Fraser), his co-pilot (Kevin McDonald) with a debilitating fear of flying, and two flight attendants (Randal Edwards and Hannah Cheesman).
Written by Mark Steinberg, Kevin McDonald and Paula Blair and directed by Kent Sobey and Mark Steinberg. Produced by Kent Sobey and Catherine Tait, from Farmhouse Productions and Duopoly.
The series was broadcast in Canada by Bite and iThentic.com and in the US on Hulu and Hulu Plus.
Papillon was in the 2011 official selection at the New York Television Festival and nominated for a 2011 Digi Award.
Kevin Hamilton McDonald (born May 16, 1961) is a Canadian comedian, actor and voice artist. He is known as a member of The Kids in the Hall, the voice of Pleakley in the Lilo & Stitch franchise, Waffle in Catscratch, and the Almighty Tallest Purple in Invader Zim. Kevin also stars as a co-pilot in the new web comedy series Papillon.
McDonald was born in Montréal, Québec, the son of Sheila and Hamilton McDonald, who was a dental equipment salesman. He moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of seven, after his father was transferred there. His family subsequently lived in Toronto, Ontario as well. McDonald has a younger sister, Sandra.
During his youth, he had a weight problem. It wasn't until just prior to The Kids in the Hall in the late 1980s that he went from overweight to rather skinny. Several sketches and monologues allude to the issue, and a stockier McDonald can be seen in archival footage on The Kids in the Hall on DVD box sets.
McDonald founded The Kids in the Hall with his friend Dave Foley. They met in Toronto at the Second City Training Center, and the two wrote and performed in sketches together more than any other pair in the group. In the troupe's TV show and stage shows, he portrays several popular recurring characters, such as the King of Empty Promises, Sir Simon Milligan, and Jerry Sizzler. Still, it's a frequent running gag that McDonald is the least popular member and always struggling not to get kicked out.
Kevin McDonald (born 23 January 1981 in Rutherglen) is a Scottish former footballer who played in midfield. His most prominent club was Dundee United, where he returned to work as a community coach after ending his playing career.
Having been developed as a player through Dundee United's youth scheme, he turned professional with the club in July 1997. McDonald made his United debut in a League Cup tie at home to Airdrie in September 2000 and appeared as a substitute in the Dundee derby two weeks later. During the derby match, McDonald – who himself suffered concussion and sickness – admitted responsibility for a challenge that saw teammate Jason de Vos wrongly sent off for challenging Fabián Caballero, injuring the Argentine for several months. The fallout from the challenge saw Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti call de Vos "an animal", prompting the Canadian to consider legal action. McDonald failed to make another appearance for United and went on loan to Greenock Morton in January 2001, playing three times for them. In October, McDonald was released from United along with youngsters Blair Sturrock and Gary Middleton.
Kevin David McDonald (born 4 November 1988) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Born in Carnoustie, Scotland he began his career with Dundee before moving to England to sign for Burnley, for whom he played in the Premier League. He spent two full seasons with Sheffield United before moving to his current club in August 2013.
McDonald was initially signed as a youngster by Dundee and worked his way into the first team. He had been the subject of a £75,000 bid from Celtic in June 2006 which was rejected by Dundee.
By May 2008, Dundee manager Alex Rae told the media that he would let McDonald leave the club if a suitable offer was received. On the same day it was revealed that Dundee had rejected an offer of £250,000 from English Championship side Burnley.
Burnley eventually had a second offer of £500,000 accepted, and McDonald was signed on a three-year deal, scoring his first goal for the club in a 3–0 win over Derby County at the end of November 2008.

Tombent les feuilles
Aux jours, plus courts
Qui retiennent
Mon corps et ma voix
Je voulais vous dire
Que je vous aime
Falling are the leaves
To days, shorter
Which retain
My body and my voice
I wanted to tell you
That I love you
Cocon qui s'eveille
Aux seuls parfums
Que j'attends
Au fond de mes reves
Souvent
Quand mes yeux s'eclairent
Longtemps
Sur vos promesses blanches
Sans y voir le piege
Qui danse
Cocoon that is waking up
To the only perfumes
I'm waiting for
Deep in my dreams
Often
When my eyes light up
For a long time
On your white promises
Without seeing the trap
Dancing
Papillon ephemere
Aux ailes de verre
Prisonniere du fil de vos secrets
Short lasting butterfly
With wings of glass
Prisonner of the wires of your secrets
Papillon qui espere
Juste un peu de lumiere
Pour secher ses couleurs
Au feu de vos desirs
Butterfly hoping
For just a little light
To dry out her colors
To the fire of your desires
Si forte est ma fievre
De vous, si doux
Mon prince
J'ai perdu les mots
Je voudrais vous dire
Combien je vous aime
So high is my fever
From you, so soft
My prince
I lost the words
I would like to tell you
How much I love you
Tout semble si beau
Du haut de vos epaules
All seem so beautiful
From the top of your shoulders
Ou je m'imagine
Parfois
Pauvre chrysalide
Qui boit
Le miel de vos paroles
Pour s'ouvrir
Et quitter le sol
Or I imagine myself
Sometimes
Poor chrysalis
Drinking
The honey of your words
To open itself
And leave the ground
Papillon ephemere
Aux ailes de verre
Prisonniere du fil de vos secrets
Short lasting butterfly
With wings of glass
Prisonner of the wires of your secrets
Papillon qui espere
Juste un peu de lumiere
Pour secher ses couleurs
Au feu de vos desirs
Butterfly hoping
For just a little light
To dry out her colors
