Aion (Japanese band)

Aion (stylized as AION) is a Japanese metal band from Osaka, formed in 1983 by guitarist Izumi. Aion are considered to be important to the formation of visual kei, credited as being one of the bands to start the movement in the early '80s. They were also one of the most successful Japanese heavy metal bands of the early '90s, charting on the Oricon music chart and touring with big bands such as Luna Sea. As of 2010 they have released 15 full albums, 6 singles, 2 EPs and more than 10 VHS/DVD.

History

Aion was originally created in 1983 by Izumi Ochiai, he soon ended it in 1985 to start a new band named Mein Kampf (which included future X guitarist Kerry and Color drummer Toshi). But this band was short lived as well, only lasting until May 1986. Izumi then decided to try again with Aion, bringing with him Mein Kampf bassist Tatsuya "Dean" Miwa and vocalist Kenichi "Rod" Fujisaki, and adding Jun "S.A.B" Saburi on drums. Rod would soon be replaced by Salee, whom after a year, would then be replaced by Satoru Sasano. And with this line-up they had their first official release, the 1987 single "Hang on Night". In 1988 Satoru left and Hisayoshi Hiraga joined, their first album Deathrash Bound was released in 1989. Hisayoshi left soon after the album's release, and they finally got a steady vocalist when he was replaced by Nov.

Aion was a Polish gothic metal band formed in 1996.

Band history

Aion was formed in Poznań in January 1996. In this year, the band recorded their first promotional demo. One month later, in July, Aion signed contract with Poznanian record label Morbid Noizz Productions. In result of this, the first studio album entitled Midian, was released. In 1997 album received "debut of the year" award by readers of Metal Hammer (Polish edition). During promotional tour they supported bands, such as Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Artrosis, Vader, Love Like Blood and Sacriversum. Signing contract with Massacre Records led to grow band's popularity outside motherland. In mid-1997 band played at Wacken Open Air festival.

In the end of July 1998, Aion recorded material to the second album, Noia, which was released in November, the same year. The album was nomineed to presigious Polish Fryderyki award in "Hard 'N' Heavy Album of the Year" category. Noia contains a cover version of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna". The release of the third album, Reconciliation (2000), was connected with changing of record label to Metal Mind Productions. The band's lineup was changed for the first time in 2001, when keyboardist Łukasz Migdalski was replaced by Marcin Żmuda. There have been numerous lineup changes since then. In 2001-2004 period Aion released two albums: Symbol and One of 5.

Aion (Aion album)

Aion -Aion- (愛音～AION～), or simply Aion, is the 4th album released by the Japanese metal band Aion. The band's catchphrase "Deathrash Bound" is written on the cover, and since the album's full title is only written on the side, this is often mistaken to be the album's title (adding to the confusion, the band's first album was actually titled Deathrash Bound). The term appears on several of their albums, later the band created their own record label entitled "Deathrash Bound". The first pressing came in a cardboard slipcover. A PV for the song "Aion -Aion-" was made to promote the album. This is their last full-length album to feature drummer S.A.B (he is on the EP Sei-Aion, released later in the year), until his return on their 2000 album Sister (in 2009 he left again).

Pandemonium (Killing Joke album)

Pandemonium is the ninth studio album by English rock band Killing Joke, released on 2 August 1994 by record label Butterfly. This album marked Killing Joke's return after a four-year-long hiatus, the longest the band has taken since it was initially founded. This album also featured the return of founding member Martin "Youth" Glover, who replaced Paul Raven on bass.

Content

Frontman Jaz Coleman considered Pandemonium to be a conceptual album on the external influence of Arabic music that was spread throughout the entire album. It also incorporated his perspective on life, which is apparent in songs such as "Labyrinth" and "Pleasures of the Flesh".

The title track, as well as "Communion" and "Whiteout", would become live staples of the band.

Release

Pandemonium was released on 2 August 1994 by record label Butterfly.

The album was reissued in remastered form in 2005, featuring two new tracks: a remix of "Another Cult Goes Down" and an experimental dub remix of "Pandemonium".

List of Kaze no Stigma episodes

Kaze no Stigma (風の聖痕, lit. Stigma of the Wind) is an anime series directed by Jun'ichi Sakata and produced by Gonzo. They are based on the light novel series Kaze no Stigma by Takahiro Yamato, and adapt the source material over twenty-four episodes. The plot of the episodes is based on the return of Kazuma Kannagi to Japan after being exiled by his clan, and his subsequent interactions with his clan.

The series aired from April 2007 to September 2007 in Japan on thirteen networks, with Chiba TV, Fukui TV, Tokyo MX TV, TV Hokkaido, and TV Saitama airing the episodes first on 11 April 2007. The remaining networks began airing the episodes later in May, with the exception of Kumamoto Broadcasting, which broadcast the first episode on 14 May 2007.

The series is dubbed and licensed in North America by Funimation Entertainment. Another English dubbed version by Animax Asia aired on their network from 19 May to 21 June 2010.

Four pieces of theme music are used for the episodes; one opening theme and three ending themes. The opening theme is "blast of wind" by Saori Kiuji. The ending themes are Kiuju's "Hitorikiri no Sora" and "Matataki no Kiwoku" by Ayumi Fujimura, Yuka Inokuchi and Shizuka Itō, with either played for all episodes save episode twelve, which features Sakai Tanako's "Tsuki Hana no Inori." A single for "blast of wind" was released on 30 May 2007, and a single for the closing themes was released on 18 August 2007.

Pandemonium (Torture Squad album)

Pandemonium is the fourth album of the Brazilian Death/Thrash metal band Torture Squad

The album was released in 2003, and videoclips for "Pandemonium" and "Horror and Torture" were made. Following the videos, a tour all over Brazil was realized between 2003 and 2005. In 2006 the group embarked on a European tour, headlining in 16 towns in Germany and 4 in Austria. Afterward they played in more cities in Brazil until they participated in the Brazilian pre-selection for the famed Wacken Open Air festival. They eventually won the final in São Paulo, and they represented Brazil at Wacken Battle of the Bands 2007, which they won. This victory won them a contract with Armageddon Records (Germany); Mauricio Nogueira also won the "best guitar player" award, which earned him a brand new Dean guitar and a Marshall pre-amp.

The themes of the songs are basically political/anti-war songs like in "Pandemonium" and "Towers On Fire" (Which deals with the 9/11 attack in the US), poverty like in world of misery, and horror like in "Horror and Torture".
