Trek (band)

Trek is a Russian rock band formed in Khabarovsk, Soviet Russia, in 1977.

History

The group was formed in 1977.

The constant structure was formed in 1980. In 1982 they published their first album «Flying for line».

In 1991 the band plays at a Soviet-Japanese-American festival in Vladivostok.

In 1995 the group publishes the CD «Blessed to Feel», the first CD of a Far Eastern rock group. There was a considerable number of groups by then in Khabarovsk and the band "Track" decided to start rock club "Roxy" on June, 24th, 1995.

In 1996 "Track" performs at the Russian-American festival in Vladivostok "Vladi-ROCKstok-96". There was a manager of the band "Nazareth" present at that festival. He invited the "Track" for a joint concert with «Nazareth» in Vladivostok. Tours «Nazareth» coincide with Dan McCafferty's 50 anniversary and "Track" also was officially invited to celebrating of anniversary. McCafferty said in exclusive interview for TVA: «"Trek" is the best that I heard in Russia». But then "Trek" broke up.

Trek Bicycle Corporation

Trek Bicycle Corporation is a major bicycle and cycling product manufacturer and distributor under brand names Trek, Electra Bicycle Company, Gary Fisher, Bontrager, Diamant Bikes, Villiger Bikes and until 2008, LeMond Racing Cycles and Klein. With its headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin, Trek bicycles are marketed through 1,700 dealers across North America, subsidiaries in Europe and Asia as well as distributors in 90 countries worldwide.

History

1975–1979 The early years

In December, 1975, Richard (Dick) Burke and Bevil Hogg established Trek Bicycle as a wholly owned subsidiary of Roth Corporation, a Milwaukee-based appliance distributor. In early 1976, with a payroll of five, Trek started manufacturing steel touring frames in Waterloo, Wisconsin, taking aim at the mid to high-end market dominated by Japanese and Italian made models. Trek built nearly 900 custom hand-brazed framesets that first year, each selling for just under $200. Later that same year Trek Bicycle was incorporated. In 1977, Penn Cycle in Richfield, Minnesota became the first Trek dealer in the world. Within three years, Trek sales approached $2,000,000.

Paris

Paris (UK: /ˈpærɪs/ PARR-iss; US: ⁱ/ˈpɛərɪs/ PAIR-iss; French: [paʁi]) is the capital and most populous city of France. Situated on the Seine River, in the north of the country, it is in the centre of the Île-de-France region, also known as the région parisienne, "Paris Region". The City of Paris has an area of 105 km² (41 mi²) and a population of 2,241,346 (2014 estimate) within its administrative borders essentially unchanged since 1860.

Since the 19th century, the built-up area of Paris has grown far beyond its administrative borders; together with its suburbs, the whole agglomeration has a population of 10,550,350 (Jan. 2012 census).Paris' metropolitan area spans most of the Paris region and has a population of 12,341,418 (Jan. 2012 census), or one-fifth of the population of France. The administrative region covers 12,012 km² (4,638 mi²), with approximately 12 million inhabitants as of 2014, and has its own regional council and president.

Paris was founded in the 3rd century BC by a Celtic people called the Parisii, who gave the city its name. By the 12th century, Paris was the largest city in the western world, a prosperous trading centre, and the home of the University of Paris, one of the first in Europe. In the 18th century, it was the centre stage for the French Revolution, and became an important centre of finance, commerce, fashion, science, and the arts, a position it still retains today.
