Palinges is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne in eastern France.
The Bourbince flows south through the middle of the commune.

Épalinges has an area, as of 2009, of 4.57 square kilometres (1.76 sq mi). Of this area, 0.86 km2 (0.33 sq mi) or 18.8% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.17 km2 (0.45 sq mi) or 25.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.59 km2 (1.00 sq mi) or 56.7% is settled (buildings or roads).

Power and water infrastructure as well as other special developed areas made up 1.3% of the area while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 3.5%. Of the agricultural land, 10.7% is used for growing crops and 6.8% is pastures, while 1.3% is used for orchards or vine crops.
