Padra is a city and a municipality in Vadodara district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Padra is located about 16 kilometres from Vadodara city

Padra is located at 22°14′N 73°05′E / 22.23°N 73.08°E / 22.23; 73.08. It has an average elevation of 79 metres (259 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Padra had a population of 35,922. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Padra has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 72%. In Padra, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.Luna is a part of Padra taluka,it has a literacy rate of 81%.in padra 85% are rajputs in padra.

Place to Visit

Major place to visit in Padra is Ranu Temple which is seven-hundred-year-old temple of Tulja Bhavani located 8 km far away from main city. 4km far from sadhi village.It is very well known as "Tulja Bhavani Maa Mandir, Ranu". Mahisagar river is also passing near by Padra. At Mujpur, a village on the bank of Mahi river, is historically very important and located 10 km from Padra towards west. The same was named after King Muj. It has few damaged but old historical monuments along with Narayan tekri - which is located at the river with very pleasant point of interest for school children in terms of picnic place.other place is SADHI.there is a brahma temple .there are only three temple in world.this temple is one of them.the temple is very beautiful and have a good heritage of sadhi.vrushti mitesh patel.sadhi.
